michael
I see the club is trialling for the ladies team. really hope this is heavily subscribed, and that the ladies team really 'takes off'. obviously part of the community initiatives, but equally a way of putting the club on the map,and would be fantastic if over the next ten years the club could climb the leagues and towards the end of this decade become a recognsed name/force in ladies football;which is only going to get bigger and bigger. I hope Mr Laslett puts some serious funding into this and thus WW gets some good ladies players.
michael
Pleased to read that the first senior ladies trials went well, looking to appoint a lady manager (c'mon Bob-may as well go for Hope Powell and climb through the leagues to win the FA Ladies cup within 5 seasons and put Margate Ladies into Europe within 8 years-and why not ? ). That could just be more achievable and generate more interest than getting Mr Brown's Boys into the football league
michael
very pleased to read managers appointed and wish them loads of success. hope they get a few to watch, encourage and that they progress up the leagues. you have to start somewhere and who knows what level they could be playing at in ten years
michael
Pleased to read that sundays fixture makes front page on official site, together with a ladies team section wish them well on what could be the start of something big,to assist in putting the club on the map. what is the most likely/easiest opportunity in the next ten years ? margate reaching division two or margate ladies getting to semi final of FA Ladies cu ?p you have to start somewhere-and where could be better than delightful sheerness i really think this is important for the club as from the little i know the popularity-and quality - of ladies football seems to be increasing at a very fast rate
michael
best wishes to them today as they embark on what will undoubtedly be in todays parlance an 'awesome journey'(sheerness is not that far surely ).. doesn't really matter about result today-its getting a team to the starting line ,and keeping them there week in /week out. just wondered why ryans interview /video with the joint manager is not posted under a news item;and has perhaps got a bit lost. important day for the club today imo
