STFC and the proposed community sports facilities at Arbour Vale get a small mention in this article on the new plans for the Montem leisure centre today.

On the surface it does sound promising.

Seemingly coming out of the blue, some questions spring to mind:

Where has the Observer got this news and is this the first time anyone from Slough Town FC has heard of these proposals?

Is the area at Montem big enough to house a Football Stadium and an Ice Rink?

Out of 326 local authority areas in the UK, Slough is 10th worst for having active residents, 2nd highest for emergency heart disease admissions and 26th highest for childhood obesity in reception class.

Figures show more than one in five Slough children are obese.

That's pretty terrifying stats! Would hope the council would want to do something about that.....

McDonald's in Slough caters for 1000's of people a day

A new school in Slough will cater for up to a 1000 people five days a week

A new ground for ST will cater for nearly 300 people twice a week assuming a home mid week game.

You do the maths.

Done the maths thanks. You forgot to include in your trigonometry the fact that if and when we climb further up the pyramid then the crowds will increase as we go, re check your angles ! Maybe instead of school boy maths you should look at the History of the club.

It's so uncanny how much Lino writes just like an old friend who used to post messages on here! I wonder if Lino (and his brothers) have a grandad?

So you agree with rtyler01 then. He's intimating we won't get a ground because our support is small .Just for your records Lino has no brothers, sorry to disappoint

You do the maths.

The last season we were in Slough the average gate over the season was 1200 per game so using your maths.

1000 kids ( but it'll be nowhere near that) v 1200 people, no brainer to me.

Not only that it'll not just be football at the site, gym, dance studio and an academy (which would be for 5 days a week).

Not sure where exactly I said I agreed with another poster?! (Seeing things that aren't there eh Lino?).

Well what is one too think. I was defending the clubs right to a new ground and all you were doing was fixating about some bloke called hotspur, which you seem to refer to a lot, makes me wonder .
