New Ground Gone In Favour Of New School?

Clearly the council can't say exactly what the 'community facilities' are until they have agreement from the DofE to take that patch out of school footprint - the section 77 or whatever it is. Don't expect any further info until that is signed, sealed and delivered.

I thought taking that patch out of the school footprint for 'Community Sports Facilities' was the concession the DofE made to Slough Council for them agreeing to let Arbour Vale be used for another school?

Or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

Surely it would have been common decency to at least keep Steve Easterbrook in the loop

Not sure he wasn't.

Steve's statement on Arbour Vale say's that in 2012 events took place that 'astounded and saddened me' and that the Council and the DofE have been at loggerheads over the site ever since.

Also, since both parties have come to a compromise over AV the club have been aware of the situation.

ER, looks like there could have been a misunderstanding here.

To try and clear things up:

When Brighton on Holiday said that it would have been common decency to keep Steve Easterbrook in the loop, I presumed he meant over the last couple of years when things started to go wrong.

Having read SE's statement, I read it, and still do, that SE had been kept in the loop over these last two years as to what the problems were with Arbour Vale.

Hopefully that's cleared things up.

The important thing here is that we ALL remind the Council that 7 years ago they made a committment to Slough Town FC.  The Club, through Steve, kept their end of the deal and provided everything the Council asked for, more than once in some cases.

I think Steve was fairly clear in an earlier post, it is now up to the fans, as voters in Slough, to push the council to back up this promise with some action.  Yes there are uncertainties and obstacles to overcome, but the time has now come for some progress.

The Club will continue to talk with the Council, but it needs your support too.  Show the Council how many people want this ground in Slough.

We will explore the red card's as I think this is a good idea and will act as a demonstration of  the lack of progress since 2004 but please think about what else you can do.
