New Ground Gone In Favour Of New School?

One has been and is still designated a school site, the other requires a change in usage to become a school site.

More to the point, if SBC is agreeing to A/V becoming the new home for Lynch Hill Secondary, that is very different from both Stoke Poges PC and SBDC who strongly oppose Pioneer House becoming a school.

Lynch Hill was proposed to be sited to the north of Farnham Lane, but SBDC rejected it out of hand. Rob Anderson and the two other Labour councillors for Britwell wrote letters opposing the siting of the school there, reflecting views of residents who may have been affected by the proposal. Quite interesting that the Farnham Lane planning was only rejected a few days ago and yet the Observer is breaking this story barely a few days later. Rather suggests a deal for Arbour Park has been in the offing for some time.

Quite why Lynch Hill gets the nod over Khalsa for A/V is anyones guess, though LH going there solves one heading for Rob

And got turned down. So if sbc are behind us they should do the same.

RR do you live anywhere near wexham? as I've said at 3 o'clock it takes 45 mins just to get to the hospital, another school on top of that.

PUT IT SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!!

And if DoE say to bad we are putting it there the same should be said to S/P

Not quite sure why you highlighted that bit of my post in red Mark.

Reading between the lines, the DofE have had SBC over a barrel with A/V. In effect, put a school there or we'll take the land off you and put a school there ourselves. SBC have effectively had their hands tied as they could not do anything with the A/V site unless the Secretary of State for Education agreed to release the site for non-educational purposes. I'm doubtful that the possible 'community facilities' will be of any use to STFC, but in terms of the ground proposal, I'm not sure SBC could do any more in standing up to the DofE. They could stamp their feet and say no, and then a school would end up on the site anyway.

Appeals are still in place for the Khalsa School to remain in SP. That is frankly irrelevant to this proposal for siting Lynch Hill at A/V

My point exactly why didn't the DoE do the same in S/P

Sorry the bit in red was that DoE paid £3,000,000 for it to be a school so what a waist of tax payers money that'll be then.

The DofE are trying to. The difference is that the Pioneer site is not and has never been an educational site. A/V has and indeed there is still a school building on the site (albeit in need to razing and rebuilding). SBDC have refused planning permission on a number of grounds and until DofE can get round them, have valid legal argument. SBC would find it difficult to do the same because there is no change of usage to the site if a new school ends up at A/V

Like all good businessman Steve E will have a plan B

I look forward to it...............

As for the council, they can all do one......be honest and up front and at least do you politics with some dignity

Plan B ? I would be amazed that he has one. We have been hanging on for so long now, plans drawn up , housing company on board with the backing of the council , he like the rest of us were ever hopeful I suspect. Our only hope now is to win the lottery and buy back Wexham Park . Was it not Slough Labour council who sold the freehold to the Thornes and caused all this trouble in the first place ?

From an email I and others got from Rob Anderson in March:

"Throughout all of this we have been very clear with them that the provision of the community stadium and facilities is non negotiable as far as we are concerned"

I'm not convinced that site is big enough for the proposed stadium plans (even though apparently there is now no plans for designs) and the school.

I've read the report in depth and have to say it looks good !

It will all depend on how your local council see the sports development programme.

I wish you all well.

Very disappointing but is there a plan B?  I await  Steve Easterbrook's input with interest  At the end of his long post on this subject on 21st January ( 5 months ago) he did say that the club were already considering the next moves on the new ground..

Well, after seeing the plans I'm a bit more positive. The area for community sports looks big enough for a ground to me, which means we can possibly thank the council for fighting for the best outcome it could. Remains to be seen however, just hope we haven't been shafted again.
