I could see scoring goals were a prob.....
Draw specialists you lot..!
Well the prob with Clarkey is this...
He left ETFC cos he wanted to chance his arm at a higher level with Waltham Forest...ETFC wished him well but doubted his obvious talent and was almost certain he'd come back......
He didn't...and the reason why was because he felt under rated and unappreciated by Jim Chandler.(NOT BY THE SUPPORTERS I MUST ADD)
Since then Jim has put in a couple of seven dayers and made numerous unofficial phone calls to Danny but he keeps turning him down.
He is enjoying it at Ilford.......contrary to what people might like to think...

I've heard differently that Clarke wanted back until his contract with Ilford was lodged with the FA meaning it all irrelevant anyway!

Jim felt let down by Clarke not telling anyone that he was having a trial with another club.....I think the decision of Town to release 'best mate' Alleyne played at big part,also......It is obvious by the ammount of times Clarkey has come back to watch the 'Town' that he was waiting for a 'nod' off Jim,regarding a come-back.......once Jim relented and made an approach(more to stop Clarke scoring for someone else, rather than a need for a new striker) Ilford quickly registered his form, and he stays where he is.

I think Daniel has been a silly boy....He could well find himself playing in front of 40 fans in the ESL next season, instead of 350-400 fans in the Ryman.

He made his bed,he's got to lie in it.......only time will tell if he made the right choice

P.S....So Allen Fenn's IMPROVED Ilford's squad.....That either means that he's a tranformed player since he was released from ETFC,or that Ilford's squad must have been bloody poor.

No this wasn't the case Mr H.........

The rumour started with Jim Chandler and his team.....

He has totally denied this......

But to be honest we were all very surprised he joined us....and obviously highly delighted....

Still like u say...all irrelevant now...

Re Westy........He's been injured fpr the last few weeks after playing on with the same injury for some time.....Made his return for the ressies against Grays at the weekend....

Very good young player......

Daniel is and always will be a showman. A bloody good one truth be known. He must miss the crowd at Brimo. 300 make more noise that the polite applause he would get at Ilford from a maximum 50. Jolly well dones can't quite have the same appeal as a crowd of supporters chanting his name.

All these visits back to the town by Daniel still makes me think he wants to be with us. He is still good mates with all the lads and I think that he probably misses the sergeant majors coaching as tough and demanding as it was!

I do agree to an extent with Lovely Stuff about Danny Clarke......Yes he maybe a regular visitor...he still has feelings for the players and expecially the supporters.......but not the management...

He feels let down by them..........Also another who is very fond of your support is Allan Fenn.....Talking to him last week he was saying that he didn't want to leave ETFC in the first place but didn't have much choice due to continually being lied to by Jim Chandler. From a kid he played at the original Enfield for years from kids sides to the reserve side...and all he wanted was to get you fella's back up..!

He HAS definately improved our squad. I think the reason he struggled was because he was given a man marking job when he has been playing as sweeper for years...Excellent talker and organiser which we badly needed...

Just briefly going back to Clarkey I do agree that because Alleyne was released this also played a big part in his decision not to go back...

So Clarkey loved the supporters and the players, and he had a manager who played him in every single game and never subbed him either.

He only started feeling unappreciated when the manager made no attempt to welcome him back after his forray to Waltham forest.

Fenn was a great character/leader/talker....but judging by his appearences for us,conldn't defend for toffee......He made so many [****!!****]-ups,that i felt jim kept faith with him for TOO long.

I believe Fenn's inclusion in the team was the main reason for Town disasterous start to the season.

Obviously I dont know what sort of performances Alan Fenn put in for ETFC....But I know he felt that he didn't play well for you lot.....something I think he still regrets...

Saying that....he has massive experience playing for the likes of Leyton, Ford Utd, Dagenham & Redbridge along with a few others and he has played well for these teams and won things so I think its more the case of he just didn't play well for ETFC.

Dont mean to sound like the Alan Fenn fan club but we at Ilford appreciate and acknowledge that he ia a very good experienced defender/midfielder and we'll win the league with him and Clarkey in it.
