Chertsey Town Fc is pleased to announce the appointment of Kim Harris as the new 1st team Manager, he brings with him Perry Gough as Assistant Manager/ Coach. Both come with a wealth of experience and both are well known in non league football. Kim has previously managed at Kingstonian, Walton Casuals and Corinthian Casuals. The club would like to wish them both well for the new season and beyond as they embark on their campaign in the CCL.

Duncs, going to bite here. Ben Dillon has done great with us at Hartley. He is mid 20s. Millers doing great at Cove, yes he's had Salv give him players but you've said many times contacts are so important. He used them, doesn't have to be players you know, you just need to know how to get them!

Derryn at Frimley doing a good job, he is in late thirties I believe and has never managed this level before. They finished in far stronger position than when he took over. Tommo got Eversley promoted. Everyone gives him stick saying he's just a Sunday manager, well he still got them promoted so he's done his job whatever people think of his methods. Turks, taken Cambo to a very strong final position after finishing about 18th the year below.

I know I don't know it all, as you'll point out I know feck all lol. I've only recently started coaching first team at this level but from where I'm standing, with my humble knowledge, I see the youngsters coming in doing ok for the best part.

Think Kim Harris will have a culture shock from leaving Corinthian Casuals pitch, one of the best in Rymans South (in my opinion) to Chertseys pitch...unless funds are found to improve their pitch in time for next season.?

With Kim's appointment, I think they will be up there amongst others who will be pushing for the title.

It will be a difficult season season as some good teams arriving making the CCL prem stronger than ever.  With newcomers and last seasons front runners its going to be a challenge for all teams...I'm thinking, top teams will beat each other and there will not be any runaway winners...but then again there is always one team that has a great season run to be champions. Records show that max games to lose is 6 games could be more this season me thinks !

Whatever, is promises to be an interesting and hard fought season.

Credit to the CCL they appear to be getting stronger each season.   Whats the chances of Jersey joining the CCL Lazarus ?

We've had no overtures as yet from Jersey and, of course, it would all have to be done through the FA, who might want another Step 5/6 League to "have a go" although we clearly have the experience.

Personally I would welcome it but we would obviously ask the clubs before we went ahead to see if they supported the venture.

Well Lazarus, I watched Guernsey on a few occasions when they were in both CCL Divisions including 2 visits to Footes Lane which were fantastic experiences. They were  a very professionally run club and their success story of making the play-offs this season proves what can be achieved.

IF Jersey approach the CCL and together arrange the same format as Guernsey, I too would welcome them. Its clear that the Guernsey experience was a success albeit a few teething problems but in general handled very professionally, so credit to all parties concerned.

Is it then not possible maybe for the CCL to start proceedings by contacting Jersey FC and FA ?

So managing is formed from experience duncs.. How do you expect new managers to get experience for when the dinosaurs die out?

Diego Simeone and Brendan Rodgers are young managers who had fantastic seasons.. Because they were given the opportunity.

Did they though, record books do not list the people who narrowly missed out.Give Duncs their money,he could easily win the CCL,and not bottle it as they both did.

In Rodgers case, you're correct his season coming second won't be in the record books. However Simeone winning La Liga? Hmm.. I can go on the give more managers or evidence if you want smudger?

The younger manager is becoming quite a trait nowadays and it seems only the dinosaurs are objecting

Smudge, I'm probably going to get shot down here and I can't claim to know him personally but I'm led to believe the Spelthorne manager is quite young? He was very successful.

At elite level I think Roberto Martinez has to be one of my heroes, in his 30s succeeding as he has. Winning pots isn't everything, if you have a side that on paper was a bottom half / struggling team and you turn that same team into a top 6 side that makes you fairly successful In alot of people's eyes.

44 isn't young at this level.. But at the top level I would say that is young, wouldn't you? Considering Giggs retired at 40 and Maldini retired at 41. At the age these managers are winning things, you would say the man is inexperienced (in Duncs world)..

Pep Guardiola is only 43, and won a league title as a manger before he was 40. Neil Lennon won a league title, before he was 40. Antonio Conte the Juventus manager, has won back to back to back league titles is only 44. Last but no least, Mr Mourinho has already won 2 league titles, the UEFA Cup and Champions League by 41.

All these men were given the chance to manage before some players had finished their careers, they were inexperienced at that level but were given the opportunity.

No English Managers in the list I notice,we will know we have made it in the CCL,when the first Club to appoint a Young up and coming Foreign Coach,as Manager. Rather than the been there seen that type who have won nothing,in years of trying.Westfield,Chertsey,Bedfont and Feltham have fallen into the trap,Names before ability.

You do make me laugh Smudger. They were just examples - get your head of the stone ages.. Not all young managers work: AVB to name one.

Just because a manager/coach has no experience there are better candidates is basically what your saying? I don't see Glenn Hoddle, Peter Reid and George Graham on any managerial short lists at the moment!
