A couple of non league snippets

The club have been at HP for years why all of a sudden would that change unless there was a massive marketing campaign and loads of money upgrading the facilities which neither will happen? Just can't see it having the desired effect...

Exactly that.

With the right marketing, closer ties to all things Beaconsfield and someone willing to throw a few quid at the project, there would be nothing stopping that club from rising up from where they are now.

The trouble with the club now is that it lacks identity and has had minimal investment into it and is living on a shoestring and scraps, in terms of what is needed to turn that club around.

It has dwindling numbers through the turnstiles and I can see why people see it currently as a dead duck.

A football club in an area like Beaconsfield needs to be more than just a football club. I think there is untapped potential to what could be offered there. Just nobody has looked to do it yet or if it has been mooted, the powers to be are blocking development.

Now that there is a service station and facillities opposite to Holloway Park, I believe that will also help in growing the club. For too long Beaconsfield SYCOB have felt out on a limb, in way of location and identity.

A re-brand of ' Beaconsfield Town FC' is a good idea but huge strides will be needed on and off the field, if anything better is on the horizon for the current set up.

If it doesn't happen soon, it will be another club likely to fold.

But why would anyone think of investing hundreds of thousands into a club like that who in all honesty don't have the potential and are at their natural level. Unless you're a fan with money to throw away no investor would be attracted. Obviously it can't do any harm in changing SYCOB to Town I just don't think it'll make much/any difference to their crowds, profile.

3spirit - same as many clubs though, is the telling point of your post of "someone willing to throw a few quid at it". If many teams had that, and the right people in there, they could all start to develop. As for the name change, unless there is that person to put a few quid in, it'll make no difference.

And as soon as someone does throw a few quid at it (ala Billericay and countless others), they'll get lambasted anyway. Personally, the ground is too remote from Beaconsfield Town itself for them to generate the interest and support. It's not the easiest to get to by public transport and would have done better off being closer to the town it represents. Fair play to those who have been there for years to keep it going though and in truth, they've had a relatively successful season just gone.

Jamie Jarvis won the treble with SYCOB and then resigned due to cuts in the playing budget with their Chairman sighting the reason as falling revenue due to no increase in attendances.

IMO you can chuck as much money at Beaconsfield as you like but for me it is a town that on the whole is just not interested in football.

Kings Langley have announced that Paul Hobbs who stepped in as manager when the previous managers left to join Hayes and Yeading has now accepted the post on a permanent basisi.

The long standimg Chairman - Derry Edgar has also stepped down as Chairman of the senior club but will still be involved in the general administration of the rest of the football club.

Worcester City relegated on the last day of the season are in so much trouble they asked to be relegated a further level but the FA has said that relegation of this nature must be 2 levels If they accept this then the beneficiaries will be Harrow Borough

Only speculation at the moment but it does seem to depend on what quality of player their new managers can recruit on the budget they've been given.

Yes Good pricing by Maidenhead As well as the general season at £150 seasons for OAPs /unemployed/unwaged and students just £110 Standard single game price £15 so excellent value for regulars who can save £195 over 23 games

Interesting appointment by Woking fc as their new manager, is a young chap called Anthony Limbrick, who has been academy coach at Southampton and West Ham.

He has no managerial experience [but plenty of coaching badges] and will be taking Woking full time.

Woking board want to aim for league football and are pushing the budget up this season with new investment to get to the next level.

What puzzles me is that Gary Hill and coach Steve 'Thommo,' Thompson had they been given higher funds, would have been a lot further up the table this season and may of challenged for honours, yet have been hampered all season by budget cuts.

Risky appointment, if you ask me.

£150 for a Maidenhead United season ticket next year. Bargain for Conference football.

Very clever pricing if you ask me.....Fans always want to see a winning team and towards the end of the season they saw that with 1000+ crowds

In the conference they will probably be mid table at best and so you get those signed up for the long haul whilst there is still a buzz with a heavy discount. Maintains crowds at the games with probably the same financial outcome as they would have had

The wealthy Billericay Chairman has stated that he wants their crowds to increase from last seasons 500 to 2,500 next season.

I think he's seriously deluded if he really thinks that will happen.

After they got into the news at the end of the season they were averaging around 1,500. So perhaps not that far fetched, that said we all know that if they hit a rough patch of results attendances can drop quickly.
