A couple of non league snippets

It's a bit perverse when clubs like Hungerford with a small support have to have seating for 500 which for the majority of the time will be 3/4 empty.

Did the small brained authorities think that any team that made it to Conference level would need that amount of seating?

Binfields game tonight against Woodcote in the Reading Invitation Cup Semi Final was abandoned after 6 players were sent off.  2 Binfield players and 4 of the opposition were dismissed apparently after a mass fight broke out.  Woodcut were 1-0 up at the time.

I wonder if the match will be replayed or not.  The final of this is held at the Madjeski Stadium.

The other semi is between Wokingham and bracknell.

Talking to a Magpies fan yesterday about their great gate against Ebbsfleet and he told me something surprising(which I have verified this morning) The highest gate ever at York Rd was 8277 on Easter Monday 1947 which attracted gate monies of £494 average of 6d in old money and didnt involve the Magpies It was the B&B Cup final Slough Town v Wycombe Wanderers.

Amazing that Harrow were relegated. I saw them play out a 0-0 draw at Staines when they were

level pegging with the aforementioned in mid table P38 Pts.51, which means only 2pts. gained

from the remaining 8 games. Bad time to have a winless run. Leatherhead convesely were 4th

bottom P39 Pts. 41, ended up with Pts. 57, 16 points from 7 games and exchanged 4th bottom

with Harrow.

Congratulations to your very near neighbours Alan - almost like poetic justice having lost their joint managers to HandY.

Dave - Yes,Pleased for them and certainly poetic justice after being left in the "mire" by the previous managers.

Personally I hope that I do not have to watch a league game between them and Slough next year. 2 more wins required!!!!
