A couple of non league snippets

So Aylesbury are now moving further away from town to groundshare when they were struggling to get 3 figure crowds at Thame which is closer and easier to get to. I can't believe this deal with Chesham is that much cheaper to uproot considering Chesham have a higher graded ground. There could well be double figure attendances for them and could be a slow death for the club and unless they merge with Aylesbury and develop their ground.

Glen, purely down to rental costs. It seems Chesham made them an offer they couldn't refuse.

Looking at travelling distance, it seems it's 23 miles compared to 19 which will add around 4 minutes to their supporters travelling time.

Thame must have been taking the pee then or Chesham are desperate for cash? It's certainly easier and quicker to get to Thame as you're going down one main A road whereas to Chesham it's not like that. Be interesting to see how they fare at Chesham though. Both Aylesbury clubs struggle to attract 3 figure crowds and can see one folding before long.

After the departure of Andy Leese, Chesham have began to rebuild for next season with the appointment of Danny Talbot from Dunstable as assistant player/coach.

Also, to bring in extra funds to support a promotion push, Chesham will have Aylesbury United as tenants next season.

Chesham have appointed Danny Talbot as joint manager alongside Jon Meakes [Andy Leese's coach]. Sounds like they are taking a chance on two relatively inexperienced people in management.

This could well backfire on the Chesham board,if these two don't get the success that Andy Leese has enjoyed over the seasons.

Andy Leese's reign was always going to be a tough act to follow, so the few games they have left and next season will be interesting to see how these two fare.

Also, with the ground share arrangement with AU they should have more funds available to them than Andy Leese had.

Purse is gone now and would Hayles be playing next season (at least he can get a free bus to games!). Bearing in mind it's Aylesbury we're talking about who have been homeless for years and have a tiny fanbase now, I can't see them paying a lot per match? Even if it was £500, wouldn't Chesham then need to pay all costs of putting on their match meaning they may profit by a couple of hundred. So over a season they may make £5,000 which these days is one decent players wages.

Big spenders Billericay signed former premier league player Jamie O'Hara yesterday as well as Jake Robinson from Hemel for £24,000.

Billericay are in the Ryman Prem currently in 9th.

Absolutely bonkers.

Millionaire owners have big plans for the club and being only 5 points off the play-offs are making a push for promotion.

I bet he's not there in 5 years! Irresponsible spending on a club that doesn't have the fanbase to support his ambitions. Once he realises the club isn't sustainable and he's got continuously use his money he'll leave. Also why spend so much in their current league when a third of the budget would be enough, sounds to me it's a personality contest and a 'look at me and what I'm doing'.

There won't be too many clubs wanting to take on an expensive striker at this stage of the season, especially considering his holiday commitments - unless it's a last-ditch push for promotion like with Crowborough. I'd guess it's a short-term thing and he'd be looking elsewhere in the summer.
