Not looking to become embroiled in an argument WR but isn't this a bit of an over reaction.

 

I don't want to see Burnham Football Club go down the pan anymore than you do, but where's the crime in talking about their woeful attendances and their inept results on a football forum.

They are after all one of the nearest clubs in Slough's vicinity.

A bit of mickey-taking is hardly the crime of the century !

 

As long as no one gets personally abusive to persons associated with Burnham FC, I can't see the harm.

 

As for your wording 'a small village club', I think those in charge before this present regime, didn't want Burnham to be a small village club.

They wanted a club more geared to a town, hence their stand and their facilities.

 

The problem in the main, is the attendances, as they have failed to match the previous board's ambitions. However, there's no getting away from the fact that in the last couple of seasons on the field of play, too, the current Burnham fc owners have made duff decisions, in regards to the paying of players, the mis-leading of managers and their poorly executed budget plans.

 

Respect needs to be earned.

Here at Slough, we are lucky that our club has found it's way under very good leadership.

 

Burnham fc need to find a better way than they are currently doing, even if it means a merger with another club to survive IMO.

I didn`t think there was much taking the p**s out of Burnham, I just think it looks like people are just talking about falling attendances.  Years ago Burnham Juniors used to be the best local football teams in the area and they youngsters were always involved with the club, I can`t say how they are doing now but surely this has got a big thing to do why they are falling down the leagues and attendances are stupidly low.  Burnham always had lots of local players playing for them too.

As we are finding now, the youth fans are the way forward.  I`m not here to tell them how to run their club, but it just seems that could be a reason why its fallen apart so drastically.

Mark Janes, a lively forward has left Didcot for Kidlington.

 

Jefferson Louis has left Staines to join Oxford City.

Burnham are at home to Ascot United today. Ascot do not have many away followers so with Slough Town playing away as well the attendance will be interesting to see.

Beaconsfield and Egham both have home matches in the FA Cup so they will get a few rebel supporters too.

Burnham are off the mark at last beating Ascot 2-1in front of a small crowd of 43.  They are showing signs of improvement but are still bottom with a goal diff of -60. If they manage to avoid relegation it will be one of the greatest escapes in memory.

Have Burnham signed a few decent players or are Ascot actually worse than them? Considering this match could be considered a derby match I'm surprised that was the official figure.

I was at Egham 0-1 ST Albans in the FA Cup today, neither team looked very good and if we were to get promoted then I think we could compete quite easily with teams like St Albans.

I popped down to Maidenhead and saw them hammer Bishops Stortford 6-0 in front of a crowd of 866..... could see us beating Stortford comfortably, but Maidenhead look like a very good side that could achieve promotion.

Strange that as when I saw Maidenhead play Staines a few weeks back they didn't look very good. Guess they had the wrong mindset.
