A couple of non league snippets

I agree with Kay. I have met a number of their people. Oxford City are not the only hosts for the BOBi League in which Slough Town PALS play but they are the principle hosts and the headquarters for the league. The AGM of the League was held there recently. The tragic circumstances regarding their MD were discussed at that meeting. Condolences to them for that and very Best Wishes for their recovery.

Seems Enfield are pressing the panic button after one win in six.

Mendy has obviously got a talent for scoring goals but unless he changes his attitude/mindset, he will continue to drift around aimlessly in the non league wilderness.

I can't remember off hand who the manager is at Enfield currently but I think Tony Mendy is worth a punt, regardless of what he's done in the past.

I know his attitude wasn't good for us, here at Slough, when he had a great opportunity to be a first team regular in our team but if Enfield's manager can spark an ounce of passion and enthusiasm into Tony, then I think they could be onto a winner.

Saying that, it's a big if !

Burnham lost their 11th game of the season today and have conceded 59 goal already.

They lost 6-1 today to highworth

They are doing so badly that the league table on their own website has them bottom of the table BELOW Carterton who have resigned from the league.

They play away to Ascot on Tuesday.

They need to get a manager in quick. I think I'll volunteer my services, lol !.  Can't do much worse !

Made me laugh in an article in the Slough Observer yesterday, with Gary Reeves spouting off how well Luther Blissett is doing since David Tuttle left.

Who's he trying to kid, they've lost 4-1, 0-9, 2-5 and today 6-1 !

It wouldn't take a lot to turn it around but the Burnham chairman will need to put his hand in his pocket and bring in 4-5 half decent players and a couple of loan signings for them to stop the rot.

It makes you wonder why they are waiting so long to get a new manager.

On Friday Enfield stated that all their new recruits were available to play against Folkestone including Mendy.

On their match report there is no sign of Mendy in the squad. OK, there could be a good reason for Mendy's absence but does seem strange for a team that are struggling to score goals.

The current Burnham team is without any question of a doubt the worst side we have ever seen. They need a lot more than 4-5 players and a manager. Unless they do something drastic and quick they could well get abother regulation at the end of this season as well.

Depends who they recruit. I think we all know players who would do a good job for Burnham at their level but you would need to pay them.

Burnham need to steady their ship by stop leaking so many goals. To me it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that a new goalkeeper, two new centre halves, a good centre midfielder and a striker are the basics needed pronto. If you can then strengthen with a couple of loan signings all well and good. Then work with what players Burnham have got.

The priority at this current time is to move out of the relegation zone and to be harder to beat.

We know it's easier said than done but a good manager will know how to turn this floundering team around but why they've waited so long to get one, and are now going to spend another month dithering because of the amount of applicants, is beyond me.

If money is such a big problem at Burnham, then as GarySTFC said, Windsor fc needs to be the model that Burnham need to follow, but in the short term, the priority must be to NOT get relegated this season.

Hence why they need an influx of better quality players fast.

As i stated in the other thread, If they get relegated to the Hellenic league Div one east, Their facilities will seem like Wembley Stadium to the other sides in that league. Burnham away would be like a cup final. Very similar to Hereford at the moment, that also must seem like a final to their opponents, as the normal attendance is less than 200 at all other league games.
