Their real problem was that the original company putting a lot of cash in in exchange for naming rights went bust This was intended to be the Sharda Glass Stadium but when they ceased trading a new partner had to be found and lots of suppliers were still owed money Given the problems I think they have done very well

Thame beating Burnham 8-1 in 1st match in Hellenic league.

Bad start.

Watched Swindon S/marine lose 5-1 in friendly game v a very strong Forest Green Rovers who's Captain was barking out orders through out the game do hope òne of our defenders will be taking on this mantle this season.

What encouragement it gives to the whole team and supporters with a player in the side like this.

I see Ed Smith scored 2 in Farnboroughs 3-2 win today and Tony Mendy scored 2 in a 4-1 win in front of a bumper opening day crowd of 56 He could do so much better.

 

 

Unfortunately you need more than just talent to succeed in football and I'm afraid Mendy just hasn't got it between the ears.

 

Shame because he'll probably regret it when the penny drops later in his football career.

After watching S/S Marine Frome and Forest Green in the last week.

I would not of put any money on Frome winning and F/Green losing but not surprised Marine won.

Just shows not to take much notice of pre season results.

.......yes but a good manager can get more out of any person, whether you're Brain of Britain or someone who buys the Daily Sport every day  !

 

 Unfortunately good managers, in all walks of life,  are hard to come by but of course, there are always talent that slip through the net, for whatever reason.

Never write anyone off.

Plenty of good managers have tried and failed with Mendy. Until he gets that chip off his shoulder he will never fulfill his undoubted talent.
