A couple of non league snippets

Dave Winfield does have bags of experience & was very good when younger & played in the Football League between 2008 & 2016.

He’s 36 now though, I’m pleased we haven’t signed him.

Did exceptionally well as a stalwart defender for Chelmsford last season.

Still the positive stance is that we must have someone better lined up.

Edon Pruti is still without a club…

The problem is RR, Spencer does this every summer. Signs a load of what look great at the time and then they have a couple of months with him and it all falls apart.😂😂

Can't argue with that SF  👍

Mind you on paper Casey is still a decent signing and if announced he was signing for us I would have been well pleased.

Might be a bit different this season with Neil Baker there.

I see Torquay's new owners have been sorted and the transfer embargo has been lifted for them as well now.

Since the embargo was lifted Torquay are not wasting any time, currently they've made 8 signings.

If we were in the market for Pruti & Qualah they would be two top signings

Pruti and his agent will be looking around for the best deal probably from an NL club if Farnborough don't cough up which almost certainly rules us out.

Zaki Qualah is a strange one.

He leaves a club that won the league having had a great season but now looks like he's struggling to find his next club.

Great at shot stopping and ball distribution but at 5ft 9'' it will be difficult to find a club higher up the pyramid.

I understand from a Chesham supporter that Zaki Oualah has returned to Algeria for a while.

I am also informed that due to his lack of height, although he is a good shot stopper that he needs a tall powerful nr 5 in front of him for dead balls into the box

Shades of Ian Wolstenholme-"Away, Keith!"

Former Hartlepool manager  John Askey named as new manager of Truro.

I hope he's moved to Cornwall, as I don't fancy his mileage if he's driving ! 😀

IrishAdrian, is that the same John Askey who played for Port Vale and Macclesfield in the late 1980's/early 90's?
