Garry Haylock is the new manager at Beaconsfield Town and his assistant will be Sam Togwell.

That has to be a shocking decision from Beaconsfield. The guy (at Step 4) got 4 points for Binfield up to his sacking in January and was very disliked by fans, staff and players for most of his time there. With Beaconsfield being relegated to Step 4, shocking management choice IMO.

I don't want to diss Becky too much but managing the club does seem a bit like a poison chalice.

Perhaps he's the best they can get.

It does appear the budget has been slashed and they’re going for more of a give youth a chance avenue. A few of their players have announced they’re leaving/signed for other clubs. Makes sense why they’ve only been able to attract the manager they have due to a very low budget and ambitions of trying to stay at step 4.

Exactly what he tried to do with Binfield.

It does seem like all these local clubs like Binfield, Beaconsfield etc stretch themselves to the limit to stay at a reasonably high level of football but, like any club, without the backing from supporters and owners sooner or later the money runs out and they slip down the leagues.

Beaconsfield have a multi millionaire owner who’s looking to build them a new stadium but is it really worth it for a club that size? Come and become an investor at a club just a few miles south with a much higher potential!

I haven't read that anywhere but if so it does seem like putting his hard earned money into a black hole.

Rumours have it that he did approach Slough Town FC before our latest owners took over but our board turned him down. I don't know if this is true or has any substance to it but I believe it was mentioned on this forum back then.

Anyone know for sure?

Garry Haylock did relatively well at Hayes and Yeading FC a few years ago. His connection at Beaconsfield will be Tristan Lewis who played for Hayes and Yeading back in the day [he runs the football side of things at Beaconsfield].

Despite what you said about Garry's time at Binfield I would have thought the pairing of Garry Haylock with Sam Togwell would be good for young players developing at that level. Both played league football. Time will tell I suppose.

I think Tristan Lewis was also on the chairmanship/ownership side of H&Y.

Hampton have made two further signings.

Experienced striker Alex Wall from Dartford and left back Kristian Campbell.

Keep up! It’s now 5 signings but none of them are signings they would have made last season. To me it’s very obvious their budget has been drastically cut.

The other three are from Badshot Lea, H&Y and Westfield so it does look like they are signing a mixture of oldies and youngsters untried at this level.

They’re looking favourites for relegation with the squad they’ve got.

Have to see who else they sign but they are going to need some more proven players to avoid a season looking down rather than up.

Of course it's a big gamble but the players they get from lower divisions could possibly excel and prove the doubters wrong.

Hitchin have received a reprieve and will therefore remain at Step 3 next season, avoiding relegation

Made possible to due Coalville Town's withdrawal from the league. Their chairman has walked away and will no longer subsidise the club, citing spiraling costs and his wish to focus on family.

Hitchin's post-Christmas form last season was absolutely shocking, and so far they've been preparing assuming they'd be at step 4. It'll be interesting to see if/how they recover.
