Rod Stringer former manager of Braintree and Chelmsford is named as new Welling manager.

Always thought he was a good manager at Step 2…. good appointment by Welling, I would be surprised if he doesn’t turn results around quickly & get them out of the relegation zone.

Ebbsfleet have sacked manager Dennis Kutrieb.

Seems the National League clubs are starting to behave like those in the Premier League with three of the four promoted clubs now sacking their managers (only Oxford City staying loyal)…… looks like promotion can be a poisoned chalice for managers.

I was surprised to see that Farnham are Step 5, and have won all of their 18 league matches this season.

Farnham won on Saturday & last night, and have now won 20 consecutive league matches (surpassing the Premier League record of 18), but does anyone know if a club lower in the pyramid has ever won all their league matches in a season?

And appointed Danny Searle as the caretaker manager.

Yes, that is the same Danny Searle that had the great successes of achieving 15th & 18th with Aldershot in the National League in the 2019/20 & 2020/21 seasons, and was sacked in September 2021 after one win from the first seven matches.

I would think they have a bigger managerial appointment than that in the offing?

With all the money they've got it does seem a strange appointment.

George Alexander has had his contract terminated with Bromley by mutual consent.

This follows the news that his loan spell at Dartford had come to an end.

Feel a little sorry for George, he had such a great first loan spell with us and we were all delighted when he signed again on loan. Again another great first period of his loan but then it all went a little off, long spell without scoring or being that effective. Now he’s been released from his Bromley contract after much promise when he first signed for them. I’d be surprised if we went back in for him.

I think at present he would be a great Step 2 striker if he settles at a club accepts he needs a full season scoring 25 goals before he attracts a full-time contract at a higher level.

If he could do that he might even get promotion with the club he goes to.

He possibly could have done that at Dartford without the promotion bit.

By choosing to go to Chelmsford he will be at a club that are are going for promotion through the play-offs.

Gary Johnson is hanging on by his fingertips after Torquay were thumped at home 0-4 by St Albans yesterday.

Nailed on certainty Torquay are busy behind the scenes looking for a replacement.

Our next opponents perhaps we can supply the coup de grace !

Taunton  have announced that they will host the remainder of Truros home fixtures this season!

Considering the poor state of Tauntons ground thats a great surprise!

1 1/2 hours from Plymouth to Taunton does seem a bit of a ridiculous hike for their players unless a lot of them live somewhere in between.

Truro have an average home attendance of 242, with the extra travelling I reckon their home attendances will plummet from what's an already paltry figure.

As for Taunton, well they are desperate to keep the wolf from the door but unless we get some decent dry weather over the next couple of months I can't see their pitch being played on every week.

The good news for us is that our journey away to Truro will be roughly an hour shorter.

Can only be purely for financial reasons, but the fact they struggle to host their own matches, their pitch will need starting from scratch come the seasons end. Just hope they’ve made enough money from this deal to allow for that.
