Several members have mentioned that we are  9 points off the relegation zone its also a fact that we are 8 points off the promotion group!

I make you correct on both points 😏

It's been said before January, if most games are played, could determine if we're looking up or down the table.

Steve Morison has left as manager of Hornchurch (7 points clear with two games in hand in the Step 3 Isthmian Premier League), and been appointed manager of Sutton United (bottom of League Two).

Morison had previously been the manager of Cardiff City from October 2021 to September 2022, so it looks like Hornchurch might have been a very successful short term stepping stone back to the Football League for him…… it will be interesting to see if he can keep Sutton United there.

An offer he couldn't refuse.

And ‘Dowse’ has been sacked at Dartford. He could be a tactical genius but maybe just no player can understand him?!

He's been skating on thin ice for a while.

If a manager has been given a decent budget the owners will want to see results and progression for their money.

Unfortunately it looks like Dartford have gone backwards.

They’re one of these clubs similar to H&W who are always up there and appear to have a healthy budget but just fall away and don’t achieve that promotion. Wonder how many more wins before our Scott starts getting linked with jobs in and around our level?
Anyone know how George has been performing for them?

Massive step up and bit of a surprise on Sutton’s part. But big opportunity for Steve to prove his worth although a mighty task to keep them in the EFL.

They are bottom 6 points from safety so looks achievable if he gets the new manager bounce.

Not for a couple of seasons yet.

He lives local and still enjoys putting his boots on in the twilight of his career 😏

After a good start George hasn't scored since 9th December.

Something of a pattern emerging?

Two players have gone on loan until end of the season.

Our own Gary Abisogun to Bracknell.

Alfie Pavey to Braintree from Woking.

What's the deal with Abisogun? Thought STFC were desperate for him to get back fit and play after his injury pre-season

Seems odd that he's gone back down to Step 3

Can only think he's at the stage where he needs to play on a regular basis to get back up to speed.

We are doing well at the moment so a regular game for Gary at a lower level seems to be the way to go.

He can’t get into a team that’s bang in form so it makes sense he gets minutes and form at a decent level instead of sitting on the bench and making the odd appearance.

I’m surprised as well, he looked fantastic in pre-season and I was thinking his return would be the equivalent of a great new January signing.

We do have what looks like a very strong interchangeable squad of 16 players (not including Abisogun) & he hasn’t made a league match start for us since his return, and only played about 30 minutes from the bench. I would imagine he is craving some playing time.

We could look a bit light if we pick up any injuries or suspensions though, so it may have been better if it had been a shorter term loan.

Gary needs to get fit, he’s still quite a way off match fitness and with the way we try and play at a high intensity, it’ll be difficult for him to come straight into that.

While he is sat on our bench he’s becoming more and more unfit by the day so it made perfect sense to dual reg him with Bracknell. The way they worded the tweet was a tad confusing… he’s on dual reg with them for the time being but we can call him back at any point from now until the end of the season.

I fully expect him to get fit with them and rejoin us once he’s up to speed.

It doesn’t look like many of the National League clubs are taking the FA Trophy seriously as:-

Aldershot lose 6-1 at bottom of National North Bishop Stortford

Dorking lose 5-0 at Step 3 Macclesfield

Top of the league Chesterfield lose 2-0 at National South Welling

Only six National League clubs are in the last 16 draw, and three got through on penalties……. it’s looking like a great opportunity for one of the seven remaining from National North & South to make a Wembley appearance.

I think Dorking took it seriously but certainly Aldershot and Chesterfield have bigger fish to fry.
