It's now official that Rohan Luthra has gone back to Cardiff City.

That's now 2 goalkeepers (both highly recommended season-long loanees) we've gone through this season.

Hopefully with Dan Lincoln it'll be third time lucky, provided his cricket doesn't get in the way for the last few weeks of the season.

Both young keepers with a lot to learn.

Bit different with Dan Lincoln who's experienced and has played at this level before so hopefully he's here to stay.

The cricket bit goes with the territory, by then hopefully we'll be comfortably safe in the table.

Wargrave's season this year started on Saturday 6th May, and ended Saturday 2nd September. Assuming the 2024 season starts at a similar time, this shouldn't affect us this season unless we make the play-offs, but could impact the start of next season, as their County games are played on Saturdays.

For the Berkshire season, their T20 season this year started 16th April and games are played on Sundays or Mondays, so this could potentially affect the last week or two of this season (although he could do both). The One-Day season runs from July to August and games are played on Sundays (although this is a very short competition from what I can see). The Minor Counties (3-day) season started in June and ran until September. These games are played between Sundays and Tuesdays, so this could also affect the start of next season (assuming he stays with us).

All perfectly clear, and hopefully already taken care of!

Struggling Eastbourne Borough have signed well regarded defender David Sesay from Weymouth.

Apparently they've tripled his wages, and provided accommodation too...

Incident filled match for Bracknell yesterday away to Plymouth Parkway.

Lost 1 nil, had Sean Fraser sent off for two yellow cards, and lost their goalie due to an injury which caused them to finish the game with 9 men, as they had already used up all their substitutions.

Joe Grant went in goal.

I guess Ben Harris would have loved to have put the gloves on, but he had started the game and  had already been subbed before their goalie came off.

In some of the least surprising news since finding out water is wet - Steve King has been sacked by Havant.

With only 1 win and 6 points from 20 games, this is probably too late to save themselves. (Oddly enough, their next game is home vs Dover, who also have only 1 win, which was against us).

Assuming that 50 points will be the number needed for survival, they'll need 44 points from their remaining 26 games (let's say 14 wins and 2 draws, with 10 defeats), which I'd say is play-off form.

If they're anywhere near as good as their team on paper (and the money they're alleged to have been throwing around) would suggest this is just about doable, but nonetheless a very big ask bearing in mind their current position.

Blackpool v Forest Green FA Cup match called off today, rumour is Forest Green may have played an ineligible player in the first round against Scarborough, who would presumably be re-instated like Horsham if so.

What is going wrong at full-time professional clubs for errors like this to be made?

It's often down to a club having players on loan or having players suspended who shouldn't have played.

It's a bit of a minefield and if a clubs admin people don't do their due diligence properly they can come a cropper costing the club thousands.

I recall a club asking a new signing if he'd played in a cup competition before in that season and took the players word for it that he hadn't.

Turned out that the player forgot that he'd played in a previous round 😅

Good start for Havant.

You'd think the Dover manager must be next for the sack but according to some on their forum he's cheap and a relegation might be what the owner wants to reduce his outgoings.

Eastleigh wouldn't have scored their injury time winner from a corner if Frank Parsons had been in goal for Reading.

Lots of rumours around the west country that Taunton may be in trouble and that they havent paid players for several weeks. There are calls for a Supporters Trust to be set up as works really well at Exeter most worrying for supporters is that the club havent commented or refuted the rumours
