Ok but the games I saw him play he hardly ever tracked back, tackled or got involved in our half.

I agree, for me Scott appears a very fair and reasonable person so it must have been something fairly serious for him to be let go.

I wouldn't be asking Ogo to track back or get involved in our half !  Each to their own, though.

Ogo has gone now so I accept it's not worth going on about it. Slough/Scott have got to make the best out of the strikers they have available to them. Tom McElroy might at least, offer a willing runner and someone able to put the hard yards in up front. To me he has edged past Elliot Benyon to start with Nathan Minhas as the two strikers against Maidstone, with Elliot then being used as the sub striker. The triallist against Bracknell,Shane Hutchinson, didn't get much service but hardly showed what he had to offer. Do we give him another chance in the friendly against Charlton? I don't think I'd bother as the league season is nearly upon us and the squad looks alright to go into the first 3 months with. Mikkel Platt will be like a fresh face to Slough when he is fit.

I am very much "old school" and it pains me to see Wycombe and Maidenhead doing better than Slough. But it has to be admitted that, after saving them from extinction at near midnight two decades or so ago, Maidenhead's owners have exhibited an envious model of steady development since. Damn.

Looks like they're going to have to continue in the same vein for a bit longer now that the local council has withdrawn its previous offer to sell them a chunk of public land to develop. Given the passage of time since the deal was announced, it seems odd that it wasn't contractually "nailed down" before now.

One bit of good news is that Slough Town fc are mentioned on Sky Sports under the section of transfer done deals due to our loan of an Arsenal goalkeeper.

Mr Day over at Farnborough is at it again!! He's blaming terrible officiating and everything is going against them. Cry me a river!

The few videos I've watched have all slated the officials none more so than Spencer Day.

Forgive me if everyone else on here already is aware of what I'm about to comment on.

( I don't buy the Non-League paper so do not know if that publication made a big thing of this bizarre incident at the Worthing v Aveley game yesterday.)

It seems the ref awarded Worthing a penalty in the 2nd half.

This penalty was duly taken by a Worthing player and he scored.

Another Worthing player had  encroached into the area a couple of yards when the pen was taken, and after the ball hit the back of the net, the referee blew his whistle, disallowed the goal and gave a free kick to Aveley !!!!!!!!!!!!

Surely the penalty at worst had to be retaken ?

I cannot think  (and neither can the Worthing fans on their forum ) why the ref did this.

Hopefully I've got the highlights underneath.

The incident starts at 3 minutes 45 seconds in.

From what I can see on the FA ruling,an indirect free kick would be given to the defending team if the penalty had been missed, but as it was scored, it should have been retaken.Bizarre decision unless it’s another new ruling that’s been implemented.

Unless there was another offence we’ve missed the ref and his linesman, that he consulted, don’t know the rules.

Windsor & Eton fc achieved a bumper crowd of 1,022 for their first game as a newly formed club.

Bit unfortunate for them that the game ended 0-0.

My old side Slough Heating are there tomorrow night, apparently expecting another large crowd for a Step 7 match.

I might be wrong but I would think most step 7 games are attended by considerably less than 100.

The novelty factor with W&E might still be there to some degree but unless they suddenly become a club that win games and are successful in as much as they are towards the top of the division it'll soon wear off.

Totally right, apart from the odd local derby most will have well under 100.

Heating have Britwell in the B&B coming up, I'd imagine they'll be a decent crowd for that given its local, no love lost between us and that its at The Polish Club.

W&E definitely had an element of the novelty factor on Saturday some of which will carry over but they've drawn their first two matches so as you mentioned that will start to wain if they don't start winning, just hoping it doesn't start tomorrow night.

Fair play to them though, pushing the boat out with club shirts/scarfs etc. for sale and a printed programme for every home match this season.
