After my trip to Windsor last night I decided to go along and watch the play off semi final between Marlow and Hanworth Villa.

Let's just say it was a typical Marlow match with lots of antics, I'm sure you can work that out.

A few things from the match was the joy of one Marlow player when he accidentally kicked the ball into a Hanworth players face and knocked him out ( thankfully he was ok ) but the celebrations to his mates in the crowd i just can't describe.

Then Marlow had a player sent off for a two footed challenge which resulted in the game being held up for 5 minutes while the player was treated and then he had to be carried off, which to my astonishment sparked the crowd to shout out cheat cheat.

the game was also held up on three occasions due to flares being thrown onto the pitch behind the Hanworth goal. The stewards didn't seem to take this to seriously as when they picked them up they decided to perform a red arrows flying display with them.

Then the goal, a corner in the twelfth minute of injury time, taken by Sam Merson. His first attempt was headed straight back to him but his delivery back into the box was perfect as he found the Hanworth centre half six yards out who gave the keeper no chance with a great header. That centre half? as mentioned in a previous post was George Wells.

an enjoyable evening amongst the 372 others.

Marlow 1 Hanworth Villa 2

Early days of match reports but I'm learning from the master Holyport Rebel, may take sometime.

Looking forward to reading some more of your match reports in the future bonjour!

Master ?

Bonjour, I reckon that predictive text took over when you typed your post and you really meant to say something else much less complimentary !

As RR says above it's great to read your match report. and I agree I hope more are to come.

Yes I did see the Marlow supporters entering the field of play at the end and confronting the hanworth players but decided they weren't worthy of anymore attention.

Interesting to read that the manager said he was proud of his players but matters outside his control lost the game, really.

Berks and Bucks cup final the 9th May could be a good watch

Concord 3 H&W 2

Surely not?

If Concord do survive, there needs to be an urgent enquiry into their ‘out of nothing’ championship form! It’s like someone has offered them £50k each if they keep the club up! It’s just madness how more or less the same squad can perform that poorly to be bottom but somehow find the quality, form and determination to win 4 and draw 1 of their last 5 games. It’s not like it’s a one off game, it’s 5 maybe 6 where they’ve decided to start playing. If I was their manager I’d be really annoyed and be questioning their attitude and desire….

Dulwich only need a point which they will get against Chippenham.

A resurgent Weymouth will overcome Dover.

I would be happy with that, and Dover being relegated.

Last season they were relegated from the National League after taking the conscious decision to be uncompetitive and finished on 1 point (after a 12 point deduction).

They lost a lot of fans due to that & doesn’t like they’ve returned this season.

With Dulwich and Dover just needing a point to stay up Weymouth have it all to do on the final day.

The perfect scenario for me would be a Weymouth win and Dulwich getting a result against Chippenham.

Hopefully this becomes a reality.

RR  Dulwich haven't  been beaten in their last 5 games winning 2 and drawing 3 conceding just 2 goals so I think youve called that one correctly!
