A couple of non league snippets

I can see this from both sides -

1. We are currently knackered as a team, clearly evident from Saturday's performance and the last few weeks of Tuesday Saturday footie (since 5th November). Add to that after this weekend (assuming no replay) we have 1 week of Saturday (v Eastbourne) and then Sat, Tues, Sat, Mon, Sat (assuming trophy success this weekend). With a small squad like ours and the suspension to Hollis and injury to Kuhl, I think squad wise a week off might just help things.

2. The obvious situation with the managers currently doesn't necessarily help the preparetion of the squad and with 1 training session with the caretaker managers (given they changed the formation on Tuesday its not like it was business as usual) isn't a great amount of time to sort things out before league football returns.

3. I agree about not giving Farnborough the advantage, BUT, don't forget for the all the cup preparations, they are on an 11 game unbeaten streak and in good form. Perhaps the club see it as a bad time to play them and it might just gvie us the edge when we do so in January.

4. Obviously from Farnborough's point of view, they want time to prepare for their FA Cup game and to be fair, why not let them have that. Whilst it's not always good to be the good guys, at this point, I actually think it benefits us more than people give it credit for.

We should absolutely not be handing out any favours particularly in our current situation. After what sounds like a promising performance on Tuesday, imagine if we play well and win on Saturday? Our confidence will suddenly be high, why would we then not want to play a league game? Naturally Farnboroughs minds may be a little distracted and they may even rest a couple of players but this is all to our advantage. I would be bitterly disappointed if we pandered to their request (if indeed true!).

Agree with that Glen, but playing well against Maidenhead in the Noddy Cup and Hanwell from the league below might give the boys confidence to carry into Eastborne instead now.

I think Guy's suspension finishes this Saturday, but certainly having Aaron Kuhl up and running again will be a big plus for us.

Not sure Farnborough particularly want the postponement to prepare for the Cup game more than likely it's not to pick up any injuries and that the players minds will be on the cup game rather than our league game.

Either way there are pluses and minuses for not playing or playing the game and if you're asked directly by a club to cancel a game it's difficult to say no.

Francis Armartey has joined Hampton and Richmond on a month's loan from Aldershot.

Francis Joseph who played for Slough in the Vauxhall Conference[ a centre forward loaned from Barnet if memory serves me correct] has died aged 62.

Would be great if we were able to get someone like Amartey on loan but no doubt he’s out of reach financially.

Latest date for applications for the Aldershot job was 6 weeks ago and still no announcement.

Perhaps they're giving the candidate/s time to think about it.

I'm hoping Bakes and Unders have applied, and get it. Supposedly Aldershot have had some late applicants who needed interviewing hence the delay in naming the new manager/s.
