As I wrote in an earler post, "No disrespect to Ben Harris???, but imagine Beth Mead wearing the Slough Town number 9 shirt!!!"

The reality is that top women's football is now way above the level of National League South.

Have a look at this 3spirit
- the Beth Mead opener against Sweden in the semi-final after 1 minute 15 seconds of these highlights :-

Sorry Shredding Green but I'm just not interested in woman's football. In fact I think the game of football[mens and women's] as a whole is over hyped, and is gross, in terms of what is being spent on it.

Now that men are being made into women, and women are being made into men, some women can be stronger than some men but factually men are naturally stronger than women in physicality terms but both can be as mad/looney tunes as one another.

Mentally, women can be stronger than men but there is no hard fast rule here. Men cannot have babies [well not yet, although some mad scientist may be working on that as we speak]. Men's football is still superior in quality to women's football [given the highlights of women's football I have watched]. If you want to believe that women's football is on par with the men's game that is your choice,SG but you will not convince me.

Important attributes in adult football are speed, strength, acceleration & physique, which are all aspects where men have a genetic advantage.

We don’t and shouldn’t look at athletes, weightlifters, gymnasts or swimmers & contemplate how the women would fair against the men & it isn’t right to do so with football either.

There will with few exceptions (i.e. equestrian sports) always be men’s elite sport & women’s elite sport, & at this particular time we should be celebrating that we have the best women’s national football team in Europe, and their success has the potential to engage and interest a much wider demographic in football.

Agree Curtis.

The England women's football team did exceptionally well to win the Euros but to compare it to any level of men's football is unfair for all the obvious genetic advantages that men have.

So if it is that high quality why are Reading Womens season tickets priced at £65 - that is £5.91 per game.

As the old saying goes - you get what you pay for!

Blimey Shredding, I managed to keep my mouth shut when you said that Ben could be replaced by a woman in our number 9 shirt, but  with you saying in apparently total seriousness

" The reality is that top women's football is now way above the level of National League South. "

as John McEnroe once said " you cannot be serious !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Shredding my friend, the Slough schoolboys team that got to the final of the National Schools Competition in 1976 would beat the England women's team.

And they are all in their 60's now !

The team that finished eighth in the 2021/2 Women's Super League is not comparable to the England Women's team in the 2022 Euro.

For that, standard ticket prices for England matches were in three categories :-

Group matches   1 : £40   2 : £25   3 : £15

Final                     1 : £50   2 : £30   3 : £15

And a lot, lot more on the black market after the matches sold out.

Women's Super League clubs have reported a surge in ticket interest after England's Euro 2022 final win.

Manchester City, Brighton and Reading have all set new records for season tickets sales.

SG - You are measuring apples and pears – one is a league price; the other is a Euros final.

I measured like for like - league games, and picked the two who are geographically closest to give as direct comparison of prices.

With Reading women's charging £65/£5.91, Slough or any other NLS team would not be able to cover their costs, so this is a completely artificial price regardless of how many season tickets Reading women’s sell, and just means the women’s game is being subsidised by the Men’s game, so asking to be paid as much as the Men is an insult to the Men’s game.

And as for being better than Ben, his physicality just shows the massive differences there are, so a comparison is just a joke.

Sometimes I really wonder what you are smoking in that vuvuzela?

Sir Rebel1965, I neither play my vuvuzela nor smoke when I am watching a football mach at home.?

But I found England Women's first goal against Sweden Women scored by Beth Mead and their first goal against Germany Women scored by Ella Toone, two goals of exceptional quality by any standards. Most of the country seemed to share my opinion.

I will ask Ben Harris next time I see him what he thought of that Beth Mead goal!

"And just means the women's game is being subsidised by the Men's game".

But in accountant's language, "the women's game is being developed by the clubs because of the interest that is there and it's future potential".

Strange goings on.

One minute Paul Hodges is part of the Farnborough squad and the next he's left and joined a club a division below.

whatever you think of the game of football the womens euro finals produced more entertaining games than i have seen in any mens matches for a long time in whatever league you care to mention ,there seems to be more hysteria in the mens game these days they are more like over paid prima donnas,i for one hope that a lot of money does not come into the womans game as it will ruin what is generally an entertaining leg of the sport.
