The thing is how long can we be left in limbo waiting for a players decision.

Ok players will become available over the next month or so and you could strike it lucky but in the main I'd say targeting players you want or need is the best way to build a squad.

Ideally you want your squad in place before pre season training starts which could be 3 weeks today. Obviously other players are still available during pre season and you may pick up a bargain. Whoever we sign I think it’s unfair and unrealistic to think we can make the play offs and another season similar to the last is probably what will happen. Obviously with 4 being relegated we have to make sure we steer clear of that and I’m pretty confident we’ll have a squad to do that.

Obviously when you talk to potential signings you've got to show them that the club has the ambition to have a successful season with a minimum target of reaching the play-offs.

For a brief period towards the end of season we flirted with the play-offs.

So far, bar a couple of players, we have kept the core of last seasons squad together so I see no reason why, with the right players recruited, that we cannot have a shot at the play-offs again.

But we need to replace with better to have a chance of making them. If Aaron goes who’s arguably our best player then we need to bring in 3 maybe 4 top players including at least 2 proven strikers which I just don’t think is affordable. But time will tell I guess.

Just to be really clear with the Kuhly situation he is not chasing money and is not leaving us in limbo or messing us around.

He is a brilliant lad and we have a great relationship with him and are talking regularly. However sometimes situations aren’t as simple as they might appear and we can’t always tell the supporters everything but in the right time his situation will be announced, along with other things that are being worked on right now.

Appreciate the mini update but as fans it’s very frustrating the wait and not being told the reasons why it’s taking so long to decide. Ok if it’s not about money then I guess it could be a job and/or location situation.

Glen, maybe focus on the positive that you support a club where the managers tell you absolutely everything that they can and that you don’t support a club where you get told nothing, as is often the case, then maybe you won’t get so frustrated ?

Jon I’m not questioning your openness as we all know it’s quite rare at any level of football. But you need to understand as fans, our thinking will always be different to yours. So we’re going to get anxious, frustrated and come up with sometimes wild speculation, just part of being a fan.

Just as an aside I could tell you four of Dulwich signings that they have already made, including someone mentioned on here, however they probably will not hear anything until they are back for pre season as is usually the case, does not mean however nothing is going on.

It’s not a case for me of thinking nothing is happening quite the opposite, it’s just the wait! But I’m sure everything is coming to a conclusion and very soon you’ll be able to release the information.

No anxiety or frustration here, I just have faith that Bakes & Unders will make us competitive again. I have no play off aspirations because I appreciate how difficult contending for a play off place will be with our budget BUT I also appreciate Bakes & Unders will do their best to try to get us around those positions, punching above our weight again!

It goes without saying most if not all Slough supporters will have faith in our managers to make us competitive again.

Going into a new season I think we should all have hopes and aspirations of making the play-offs, what's the point in thinking otherwise?

Regardless of our lower table budget our managers will target reaching the play-offs, there's no point going into a season thinking anything different.

And of course we'll be punching above our weight again but that's no different to any other season in the NLS.

Not me, happy being competitive due to budget constraints and we are still in transition, anything else is a bonus!

Just hoping for a better start to this season than the last 3.

2021/22 - 1 win from 8

2020/21 - 2 wins from 8

2019/20 - 2 wins from 8

Need to get points on the board as it will be a tough season if we have a slow start - 4 relegation places to dodge and the big budget teams will have something to prove..

Would be nice to have an FA cup run to boost the funds.

Agree with CR that it is another transition season and that comes with risks.

This is getting to be a habit SR1965, I agree with you again !

Starting the season strongly would be great and would be a wise thing to do, given the number of teams in the division this season but football is unpredictable and I'm sure Bakes and Unders went into those last 3 seasons with every intention of picking up more wins than they got. Doesn't every manager want that?

Just as a matter of interest how many draws did we get in each of those 8 games, for each season? I say this, as a club like Slough [ie with budget issues], :-  A draw against a superior financed club can be like a win !

In all honesty I would probably not expect to hear anything on new signings for two weeks I would guess, so just sit back and enjoy the off season.

Neil or Jon, I understand the caution of not announcing any signings yet. I can wait another two weeks or another 10 weeks, I'm not sure about another ten years ! ? After all it's only a silly game played by twenty two blokes kicking a round object about ! ha ha ha !

However, wouldn't it be better all round, if just one new signing was announced. That way the fans are appeased that we have a new player coming, gives fans on here something to talk about, and you two managers can get on for the next two weeks or so, without being pressurized. As for Aaron Kuhl -what will be, will be.

Other clubs are announcing signings. Hampton and Richmond FC who I would say is on a par with Slough in this division have announced signings,so why has Slough got to be so hush-hush?

If that is the standard of Hemels signings, they will be im trouble next season.

Saw Hope play a couple of times towards the end of the season and he struggled at Step 5, looked over weight and off the pace.

There's a photo of Ryan Hope on the Hemel Hempstead fc website, signing forms in Hemel's colours. He looks fit enough to me.

I think it's pretty certain we have new players coming otherwise we'd be in deep ****  ?

There could be other reasons why new signings haven't been announced yet other than just keeping it hush-hush.

I think we should all realize if it was at all possible we would have been told about any new signings by now.

Full data:

Wins:

2021/22 - 1

2020/21 - 2

2019/20 - 2

Draws:

2022/21 - 2

2020/21 - 1

2019/20 - 3

Loses:

2021/22 - 5

2020/21 - 5

2019/20 - 3

So points from 24:

2021/22 - 5

2020/21 - 7

2019/20 - 9

8 Games picked as it is 20% or 1/5 the season.
