No surprise he’s gone back to Havant and the £1,500 pw no doubt helped make his mind up! I’m sure there were a few interested clubs after him too even though he’s 32.

I doubt we’re in the running for Liam but he did trial with us a few seasons back.

With the uncertainty over the ground and the limited playing budget, there needs to be some reality to what needs to happen this year.

The survival of the club at this level and having somewhere to play must come first, and those talking of bringing in high paid players need to understand the realities of our predicament.

Although Rob has intimated that if the ground makes money, then it should be safe, the ground is not a primary service like housing and social care etc of the council, but a leisure activity, which if made attractive enough to a buyer could be a quick and easy selloff to balance the books.

The likelihood of someone as brave/mad as Steve Easterbrook reappearing and saving the club again is remote, so expectations need to be adjusted.

Neil and Jon must be struggling to predict what long term budget they will have and what players they can attract, but with the season ticket offer finishing on Tuesday there has been little motivation for those who are sat on the fence to put their hands in their pockets and buy.  This then means the budget on offer is then restricted. – a catch 22 situation.

Looks like we have returned to the old closed season uncertainties that plagued Slough Town FC through the Thorn and Deaner days.

Liam Ferdinand must be well known to our managers having played local football for a number of years for Binfield, Bracknell etc and having trialed with us in pre season a few years back.

He's scored lots of goals at lower levels but only 6 goals in 30 games when stepping up to NLS level at Hungerford.

I don’t see it as negative as you’re saying but I’m a realist and would say another mid table finish would be good going. That’s not to say we can’t surpass that but on the other hand depending on how we can recruit we could also struggle especially with 4 clubs going down. We just need to stay in this division and hope we can have another long cup run to boost finances and awareness again.

If for whatever reason season ticket sales are down surely the deadline date to get the early bird discounts will be extended.

Then of course sales will be determined on good or bad news on the player front.

Should the ground be put up for sale, I would hope that a co-ordinated effort by management and fans would ensure that it be purchased.

Farnborough had an average attendance of 476 (and at a lower gate price) and can put together a team and announce it well before the end of May.

They have now got it out there on social media to promote season ticket sales.

So if a tin-pot team like Farnborough can do it, either they are being very bold, or they know what they are doing?

For a 'tin pot' club and looking at their twitter feed Farnborough are doing some excellent PR work ahead of the new season.

Not sure your reply is relevant to my post Shredding.

On your point do you have any sort of idea of how much would need to be raised to buy AP?

So SG do you have your £10,000 ready?

The ground and buildings would be at least £5,000,000 and we have 500 fans so ONLY £10,000 each!!!!!!!!

On the subject of limited budget it looks like the season ticket pricing policy of the club may well limit Neil and Jon's playing budget.

Slough Town FC are by far the lowest price season tickets announced so far, as can be seen from the table below.

So of those listed the other teams will have an average income from each season ticket of £238 early bird / £284 full.

Club Early bird Full
Slough 195 230
Ebbsfleet 225 250
Farnborough 220 276
Eastbourne N/A 275
Chippenham 255 275
Hungerford 210 N/A
Braintree 270 300
Bath 240 275
Welling 225 N/A
Dover 250 331
Weymouth 250 290
