as is the case cookham but i have listened to every match commentary and have inside info to what is going on to make my own decisions also i am a supporter of long standing yes i went to the amateur cup final i was only a boy but i was there and i was also a regular at the dolphin ,wexham park  windsor, beaconsfield and arbour park though i have not been in recent seasons because of ill health , but i know enough about the game and enough about slough town to make an informed opinion if you consider that to be a wind up because it does not go with your own opinion then so be it i do not care anyway, i am entitled to my opinion wether you like it or not as are you ?

HT - who at the club has said young players have come back worse than they left?

I ask as apart from Lawal (who in fairness I haven't really seen enough of to comment), Goueth, George and Pegg have 100% improved as players from their dual reg / loans.

Are opinions the same as facts???

Bakes and Unders blooded 17 players u23 this season, those 17 made a total of 193 appearances between them, some more than others obviously… Struggle to see how the u23s could be used better based on the above.

Of those 17, 6 went out on loan and all came back better players for the experience, again that’s a fact as all went back into the first team squad, if they had got worse on loan they would’ve stayed in the u23s.

Interesting statement today from the chairman of Fleetwood Town FC after they decided to find a new first team manager after
Stephen Crainey, who had moved up from Under-23s manager on 14th November, avoided relegation by sending my boyhood team Gillingham down on goal difference :-

“We are committed to this football club being successful and with us doing that, we have to be winning football games. We are going to be working hard to get back to sporting success, something which Fleetwood Town has done for a very long time.

We are going to be working tirelessly this pre-season, to get the recruitment right, to appoint the right manager, and to continue to liaise with Stephen Crainey in the Under-23s whereby we can talk about the development of the young players and work a path for them to get into the first team.”

Tonbridge Angels have sacked manager Steve McKimm.

Steve has performed wonders at Tonbridge with limited resources available to him, I think this is a ridiculous decision taken by the Angels board which could easily back fire on them.

Bit of a backlash developing over Mckimms sacking He's  called it totally disrespectful says he was pulled aside and told by a single director  A number of the players made it clear they wouldn't attend the forthcoming Presentation evening and the board of directors have cancelled it citing " the evolving situation at the club"

Staines Town FC appear to have a new buyer interested in purchasing their club.

Chris Nunn [ex Biggleswade manager, and I think Bakes's mate] has joined Kempston Rovers probably with the remit to get them up the Division 1 of Southern League Central,as they finished third from bottom this season.

Bradley Clayton who turned out for the Rebels a few seasons ago in a pre-season,was Chesham's top scorer this season and has been rewarded with a new contract for next season with the Generals.

He's had a good season and obviously knows where the net is.

Not sure why he would sign a new contract when surely a team from a higher league will be interested in signing him unless of course he's not ambitious enough to play at a higher level.

But what happens if he chose not to sign this contract with Chesham, received no other offers and had a poor next season? It’s best to sign now and have that security rather anxiously wait during pre-season for offers which the longer it went on the less attractive the offers may be. We don’t know, Chesham could have offered him a 3 year contract on double his money and assurances they’d sign players to give them the best chance of promotion.

Havant have failed to make the play-offs losing 2-0 to Chippenham.

Given they must have one of the biggest budgets in the division surely this must be seen as a massive failure.

Yes I’d admit this made me laugh! How many seasons now have they been stuck at this ‘beneath us’ league? They’re so called full time and must have a top 3 if not too 5 budget (probably around 4 times ours!) and they just can’t do it can they? But with their manager also an investor of sorts it’ll be very difficult to sack him, but how many more seasons does he get?

Good work from Chesham tho getting their top scorer signed up pronto.
