Isn't that on a par with most attendances at clubs in the North compared to the South?

Being a near 5 hour round trip on a Tuesday night not sure how many Weston fans made the journey to Hayes.

As for Met Police they are a very poorly supported club so no surprise the gate didn't go above the thousand mark.

Much better attendances at the Isthmian League  Premier Division play-offs.

1,504 : Bishops Stortford 2 Cheshunt 3
1,948 : Enfield Town 2 Hornchurch 3

and in the South Central play-offs

1,109 Chertsey Town 4 Basingstoke Town 1

1. Moses Emmanuel - clearly knows where the goal is?. For a smaller guy he is decent in the air (a bit like Warren Harris). Quite quick, but not as quick as Amarty.

2. Francis Amarty - good finisher on the while. Still very quick and makes excellent runs at times. Has improved since he left us but not loads IMO

IMO - both are excellent in the southern prem (not a massively controversial take that one??) but I'm not so sure they will be anywhere near as successful in the conference south. They both want too much time on the ball and, especially Amarty can be very lazy at times. Conference South defences will cope with them both very well (assuming Hayes win the final and they both stay of course). They are IMO those types of players that are "tweener" players. Too good for Prem, not good enough for South (for those that watch Binfield frequently, Sean Moore is the same. A star at step 5, ok at step 4).

Not that I am going to weigh in just yet on my thoughts on the team / squad for next year, except to say, I think we need 2 conference South quality strikers for the squad and neither of these 2 would be of list.

(No doubt Hayes will get promoted and both will score 30+ goals next season now I've said the above???).

Don't forget SF, Moses Emmanuel has played and scored goals at a higher level.

Some excellent attendances.

Certainly puts the two Southern Premier play-off games to shame.

Next seasons opponents Worthing finished their season last night with a 1-0 home win.

The attendance was over 2,000 giving them a home attendance average of over 1,300.

That match was played on Saturday 23rd April, the final round of matches before the play-offs.

Champions Worthing had 2,134 for their 1-0 home win over Brightlingsea Regent.

Read today about Maidenhead United’s proposed new stadium being approved by the council. Still a couple of hurdles to jump but it’s probably likely this will be built and open in the next 2 seasons (if all goes to plan). Great for their fans but I just worry it’ll just make it even harder for our club to compete for fans as any new stadium attracts new fans or casual fans from others. Plus their new stadium will be EFL standard so I can imagine pretty impressive.

Tough choice between those two. Farnborough have a couple of ex Rebels who I am still fond of whereas I could probably walk down the grand union canal to watch Hayes if I wanted. Shame we are playing on the same day as I'd have probably gone to the game.

I'm sure our managers will be hoping it is Farnborough, given their links to that club and that they live that way.

Funny enough, even with Hayes only being a few miles down the road from me, I prefer going to Farnborough !

Weren't they minutes from oblivion when the current owners took over. Much as it pains etc. they are a fine example of what can be achieved by sensible and progressive direction, backed up of course by a willingness to deploy their considerable financial and real estate resources, and the ability to get their local authority onside. So many what might have beens for us, stretching back to the 1930's.

Not sure but wouldn’t be surprised. Still amazes me how they went from a club always below us averaging 300 odd to an established step 1 club averaging nearer 1,500 with a brand new football league stadium on the horizon. If they get it right they could easily start averaging crowds of 2,000.

Just noticed Francis Amartey got player of the season at the Hayes and Yeading awards for this season.

Farnborough's player of the season went to their right back John Oyenuga. Farnborough seem to have assembled quite some squad this season, and as been mentioned previously quite a few players with Slough connections.

Wonder who will win today?

Without having read any of the said article I was under the impression their new ground was going to be at Braywick Park similar to ours in that it will be a community stadium.

Statement issued dated 29th April 2022 :-

"Maidenhead United has moved a step closer to building a new stadium, after the sale of land at Braywick Park was completed. Last Thursday the club announced it has finalised an agreement with the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Council to acquire 3.7 hectares of land at the park.

It was reported in November 2020 Maidenhead United FC bought the land for £460,000 in order to build a new stadium larger than its current base in York Road, which has been used since 1871, the oldest used football ground in the world. Despite the purchase, plans to build the new stadium is still subject to planning permission, which is expected to come forward sometime this year.

If approved, the community stadium will incorporate football, athletics, and wider wellbeing facilities. The club also said the proposed state-of-the-art facility will support its growth and development as well as secure its long-term sustainability so the club can be enjoyed by generations.

It stated: “This is an exciting development for the club, its supporters, and the local community. It brings our vision to locate the club within the heart of the community as part of a wider integrated sports, recreation, and wellbeing hub at Braywick Park a step closer.”

A consultation with supporters will take place on Monday 2 May, from 5:30 pm in Stripes following a game against Aldershot Town FC. A wider consultation will take place in early summer 2022."
