I see both Farnborough and H&Y were beaten yesterday whilst Taunton won again to move second Going to be an exciting run in   I've seen Taunton a few times in recent weeks they're  only about 15 mins from me and I've been very impressed strong and uncompromising.

Chesham beat Poole 3-2   yesterday In goal for them was 40 Yr old former Arsenal keeper Graham Stack  answering an emergency call as they found themselves with no keeper

Who remembers Chesham turning up at Wexham Park with Bruce Grobbelaar in goal?

Slough will need to add a few stronger, uncompromising players to our mix next season, if we can keep Bakes and Unders at the helm, gulp !

Graham Stack is a relative of Michael Murray's (joint chesham manager) so probably explains it.

Glad you're keeping up with the inside info,C'est La Vie. ?

Hakan Hayrettin was very complimentary to the quality of the Havant & Waterlooville team and individual players including their long throw specialist in Saturday's 4-0 defeat, a scoreline which he did not feel reflected the actual game.

Looking at the remaining fixtures, I favour Havant & Waterlooville for the final play-offs place. But Slough Town still have 21 points to play for and there will be plenty of points dropped by the other eight clubs in with a chance of that final play-offs place. I see no reason for negative thinking at this point.

It's always easy for a manager to be complimentary/patronizing to the opposition after winning a game 4-0.

I'm not so sure the opposition supporters will agree.

I am a Man of Kent so know the Dover area well and all that it has to offer. Like Slough, there is much to see in Dover itself if you know where to go. The views of and from both Dover Castle and
The White Cliffs of Dover are stunning.

If you are not sure Glen, read this :-

"With striking, world-famous coastline, beautiful countryside, fascinating history and heritage, characterful towns and picturesque villages, White Cliffs Country in Kent is a wonderful part of the UK. It’s where the coast meets the countryside, ancient meets modern, relaxation meets adventure and England meets Europe. The iconic and instantly-recognisable White Cliffs of Dover are at the heart of White Cliffs Country, with Kent's Heritage Coast listed in Lonely Planet's "Best In Travel 2022" as one of the world's best regions to visit.

As one of the warmest and driest places in the UK, White Cliffs Country - Deal, Dover, Sandwich and beyond - makes a great getaway destination, for exciting things to do in Kent, for the whole family to enjoy, and for the whole year round. Just an hour from London on the high-speed train, and with the shortest ferry crossing time to Europe, White Cliffs Country has excellent travel connections and is easily accessible from major cities. If you're planning to visit the coast and countryside of South East England, visit White Cliffs Country! With 20 miles of coastline and beaches offering stunning views and breathtaking scenery, around 22% of the entire region is designated as an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' (AONB). In White Cliffs Country, you'll find memorable things to see and do whilst enjoying fantastic outdoor spaces - with a great variety of walking trails and cycle routes, including along the North Downs Way and England Coast Path National Trails - and unique experiences that mean you can "live like a local".

The home of Kent's Coastal Castles and Kent's Golf Coast, White Cliffs Country is somewhere you might plan to visit for a day, but you'll want to stay for a week - or more! Visit maritime Deal, historic Dover, medieval Sandwich and beyond for amazing days out, fantastic locally produced food and drink, quirky and traditional places to stay - and make holiday memories to treasure."

Just make sure that you get back in time for the next Slough Town home match!

Another point which I overlooked about the delights of playing Dover Athletic on their Crabble ground is that it is not situated in the port of Dover but in the village of River which is descrbed as "River is situated in a steep wooded valley formed by the River Dour. At its north-west end the valley splits into the Dour Valley, in which Temple Ewell lies, and the Alkham Valley, which for much of the time is dry but which contains the Drellingore, a highly seasonal stream characteristic of chalk downland (another example being the nearby Nailbourne). The confluence of the Dour and Drellingore rivers is situated in Kearsney Abbey. The common land areas above Kearsney Abbey provide a view of Dover and its castle, and much of the area consists of delicate chalk grassland.

There are two significant green areas, the River Recreation Ground and Kearsney Abbey. Despite its name, Kearsney Abbey was never a monastic estate but was the name given to a manor house, built by the Fector family in the early 19th century. The house fell into disrepair after World War II and was demolished around 1960. All that remains of the building today is the billiard room.

The nearby stadium of Crabble Athletic Ground is home to Dover Athletic FC, and is situated at the Dover end of Lewisham Road.

The stadium is known for its unusual location, being set into the side of a hill. It has two seated stands and two covered terraces. The Main Stand, which has been in place since 1951, occupies the length of one side of the pitch and has a roof supported by numerous columns, which obscure the view for some fans. Identical covered terraces for standing spectators are behind both goals, which also suffer from an obstructed view. The small Family Stand occupies a portion of the side opposite the Main Stand. The remainder of this side of the ground is taken up by the clubhouse, toilets and other club facilities. Unlike most football stadiums, the club directors' lounge is set atop one of the stands.

The stadium is approximately 1.5 miles from Kearsney railway station on the Victoria
to Dover Priory line. Dover Priory itself is further away, but connecting bus services are available.

I think I've read somewhere that the pitch gets easily flooded.

Sounds like a real pleasure to look forward to.
