Ebbsfleet United have issued a statement saying they offered to pay all Bath Citys operational costs in order to get tomorrows game on This was declined  We are due to play Ebbsfleet on Tuesday I wonder if they will make us a similar offer ?

And our volunteers...

For me safety is the number one issue. 100,000+ people have died and even if testing was sorted it doesn't eradicate the risk (my wife works in a SEN school and is tested twice a week but they still have COVID cases amongst staff.) It is just not acceptable right now to expect our players, management staff and volunteers to put themselves and their families at risk - maybe in a month or two when many many more have been vaccinated and the numbers of new cases, hospitalisations and deaths are way down but not now! I'd even stop elite sport - look at the debacle in Australia for the tennis.

I utterly agree with our management committee's stance on not saddling the club with debts going forward but for me this is secondary.

Hope not as it will only cause arguments. We shouldn't go.

A trend might be developing in the way National South clubs that want the season to continue are voting.

Eastbourne, Dartford & Hungerford appear to have voted against Resolution 1 & Resolution 4.

If Resolution 1 doesn’t pass then I think all 66 clubs votes will count to whether the season ends or not.

Presumably they think the votes of the 43 North & South clubs only is more likely to end the season than the votes of all 66 clubs.

Resolution 1 is weighted so that each Step 1 club has one vote but each Step 2 division is worth 4 votes.

So if the majority of Step 1 clubs vote in favour of Resolution 1 (which I’m pretty sure they will do) then I don’t believe the voting at Step 2 will have a significant impact on the result.

Hi Jon,

I think Resolution 1 is not only weighted but as a Special Resolution requires a 75% majority ‘for’ to pass.

A total of 31 votes, 23 National League votes 4 North, and 4 South.

So there only need to be 8 against it for it not to be passed, and presumably if 12 of the 23 South clubs vote against it, then the 4 votes from the South would be cast ‘against’.

That would then mean only an addition 4 National Premier teams to vote against for it to fail.

So, theoretically on Resolution 1, 19 National Premier clubs vote FOR, and 4 AGAINST. North vote FOR (4 votes), and South vote AGAINST (4 votes). Result 23 FOR (74%) 8 AGAINST (26%).

In that case does Resolution 1 fail, & it move to Resolution 4 where all 66 clubs equally vote on whether the season continues, with a simple majority decides?

And it may get even more complicated, and possibly require less if there are abstentions, which I think Wrexham has said they might do.

Well you’ve definitely given it more thought than I have! ?

I thought, and maybe this is wrong, that the 4 votes per division at step 2 could be split 2-2, 3-1, 1-3 depending on how all the teams voted and it wouldn’t be all or nothing, 4-0 or 0-4. But I have nothing to base that on, it just seemed to me a fairer and more accurate way to reflect the votes of 23 clubs. And knowing the NL this is probably why it won’t happen that way!

Interesting development via a tweet from the Gloucester City Co-Chairman:

“Well done @TheVanaramaNL ... Covid testing is now being rolled out at no costs to the clubs ... packs should arrive w/c 15th Feb 2021.

So with testing now in hand, funding support offered to those that need it ... we can play football ... right?”

Sadly only 1 of our 3 NLS teams progressed to the last 8 of the FA Trophy  Oxford City beat Peterborough Sports 2-0  Maidstone were beaten 5-4 at Hornchurch by a 90' goal and Havant &W drew 2-2 with Notts County but their penalty takers let them down in a 4-2 shootout

If this info is correct then right We were one of the clubs signing a letter that said we agreed with the league restarting whilst the finances were sorted provided testing of all players officials and volunteers took place.I note the Gloucester chairman only mentioned NLN but I dont believe NLS would be excluded
