Concord Rangers have informed the league that they will refuse to play any more games starting with H&W on Saturday until funding is sorted

Eastbourne and Oxford City want to continue  Tonbridge want suspension

Ironically, Concord Rangers were due to host Havant & Waterlooville on Saturday but they have postponed their next three matches due to self-isolation.

"Without just cause" finding itself doing a bit of unexpected heavy lifting in this context.

Blimey the s***s really hitting the fan now.

As Adrian has said Concord are refusing to play anymore matches until the league sort out the funding for testing and we have told the NL that we don't intend to travel to Eastbourne on Saturday and want any decision to suspend the league done before Saturday's round of games.

Presumably this is on this assumption that option 3 to suspend the league is the unanimous decision by all the other clubs otherwise a fine could be heading our way if we don't travel to play Eastbourne.

RR  If the NL are minded and determined to continue the season then their way of pulling dissenters back in line may well be expulsion of clubs that are refusing to play  Let's hope there is a large majority for option 3

Risky statement to make which could result in a three point deduction which could send us into the relegation place on points &/or points per game (neither of which is possible if we fulfil the fixture).

And seeing as we have been a bit of a thorn in the National League Board's side, with the play-off appeals & calls to suspend the season for the last month, I wouldn't be surprised if they would jump at an opportunity to find a reason to relegate us.

Risk is an interesting subject.

We focused on the risk of once again putting ourselves in an unsafe environment on Saturday with the NL continuing to turn a blind eye to player safety, despite our recent statement and 1800 more deaths yesterday.

And we considered the risk of starting another week of having to play the players’ wages once again with no confirmation that this would be covered, despite the league telling us “not to worry” on 15th December.

As managers we are pleased that the club has shown integrity throughout this whole process, a quality sadly missing from those in charge of our league.

It's only risky if we, along with Concord, are the only clubs refusing to play.

The NL only have to make up an excuse not to be able to announce a decision by the weekend and we are in the proverbial if we don't play the game.

Havant have issued a video saying that following a board meeting to discuss the choice of options available to them they are putting the club into self isolation for 10 days rather cleverly citing possible covid within the club as the reason.

Conveniently Havant were due to play Concord on Saturday so as far as I know we are the only club refusing to play on Saturday.

Or you could look at it this way, the NL  gave all clubs less than 24 hours to make a decision of either take a loan, get less funding or suspend. Clubs that have history stretching over 100 years, clubs heavily involved with their community. All the club are doing is giving the NL a similar timeline to make their decision. Isn’t the saying ‘What’s good for the goose is good for the gander’

Exactly what my very recent post re " Just Cause" was about!

The trouble is Ade if we are the only club to refuse to play this Saturday the NL will more than likely just dig their heels in and say they'll stick to their original statement and give their answer next week which leaves us open to sanctions.

IMO the only way this will work is if many more clubs refuse to play.

With just over a day until we’re scheduled to play at Eastbourne and not many other clubs making a stand I can’t see us refusing to play and risk the punishment. The league isn’t known for making quick decisions so I’d be very surprised if they did tomorrow. We’ll probably very begrudgingly play but then state the same which the league could just end up stringing us along. Just have to hope other clubs especially in our division take some stronger action too.

Do you really think we can backtrack and play on Saturday after this post? Where would the Club’s integrity be then?
