A couple of non league snippets

I think voiding the season is the best thing to do. I’ve seen comments on twitter from rival fans saying we only want the league postponed because of where we are in the league. Well duh!!! If you don’t play games you don’t get points. Then again that’s H&W (one of them commenting on ‘our’ feed) for you holding onto meaningless grudges. It’s hard to get any momentum if you start stop start stop too. End of the day, safety comes first and hope we ‘all’ get our football and lives back to normal in the coming months. At the moment win, lose or draw results don’t affect me the same as they should do and have done in recent pre-COVID seasons.

Of course it's not the same at the moment because we are not physically able to go and watch games.

Also as you say peoples health and safety must come first.

As far as results not mattering or affecting us depends on the way you look at it.

As it stands the season is continuing and as far as we know will continue with promotion and the possibility of relegation at stake depending on what happens to the season at steps 3 and below.

With a small squad and the possibility of having to play 3 games a week injuries could play a major part so the last thing we would want is to be dragged into a relegation scrap.

If 6 of the 7 matches in our division go ahead tonight, & Welling get a point which would move us to the relegation spot, then there could be a lot more clubs stating our calls for a suspension are related to our league position.

Unfortunately the criticism won't stop whilst we're in the bottom section of the table.

I'm not sure why the other clubs that are supposedly in favour of having at the very least a few weeks break don't speak up.

New Welling manager is Steve Lovell former Gillingham manager at the same time Gary Fiore has been stood down as Director of Football

My first ever football match was Gillingham v Northampton Town in 1957.

I considered that Steve Lovell did a very good job as Gillingham manager from 12.10.17 to 26.4.19 within the constraints of owner-chairman Paul Scally who then sacked him with thirteen months of his contract remaining. Remember the protests from the visiting supporters at our FA Cup tie on 2.12.18? Gillingham beat Cardiff City in the next round and lost to Swansea City in the fourth round.

Paul Scally is still owner-chairman but Steve Evans is bringing no more success than Steve Lovell.

Although a Welshman, after a long stint playing for Millwall, Steve played for Gillingham, Sittingbourne, Gravesend & Northfleet, Tonbridge Angels, Deal Town and Ashford Town and has been involved in Kent football with various clubs since the end of his playing career.

Ollie Bayliss is also reporting that there are a growing number of clubs against declaring this season null and void  instead they want promotion decided on the PPG results from the last 2 seasons and no relegations   Anyone fancy this idea?

Just watched the post match interview from Dorking manager Marc White after their 2-1 defeat to Maidstone in the Trophy.

He is obviously lived after losing but his continual swearing in the interview when it's pretty nailed on that young supporters will be listening is in my opinion unacceptable from a person in his position at the club.
