How can football expect to be bailed out by the Government when the Premier League will have paid out over £800 million on just the top 22 players in the latest transfer window?

The Government has also already funded numerous football clubs who have been using the furlough scheme. I am assuming we have like most National League clubs done so.

It is time for the Premier League to decide whether they wish to financially support the pyramid structure we have, and if they don’t then local clubs will have to be innovative about ways to fund themselves through this crisis.

There should be a cap put on what players and clubs can earn. It is scandalous and immoral the money being spent on football and other sports. I'm not adverse to players, managers, and clubs being fairly well-paid but not to the degree we are paying everyone. Stinks of corruption and greed but that is capitalism to a tee.

No I will watch Marine when they play at home as I am missing being at a game they have a good team like to see them do well.

When I lived in Eton Wick and Slough no way would I go and watch another team in Berkshire once I went with dad to see Maidenhead play Harwich and Parkeston in 1970s/80s when Slough did not have a game only the Rebels for us.

How things change.

SD : A beautiful evening at The SKYex where a crowd of 188 saw an excellent competitive match.

Everything seemed normal which made for a refreshing relief from the current problems and restrictions.

A deft flick by Kotwica on to Campbell on 61 for the Supermarine equaliser.

A superb lob from Francis Amartey on 83 to make it 3-1 and he was made Man of The Match.

SD : What more could you ask for?

SG Marine should not of lost on sat they have a good team sounds like it was a good game tonight .

Ryan 2 goals in two games for marine was at Chippenham three seasons ago now playing very well.

But outgunned by Francis Amerty.

They will come good soon.

Dartford started their final pre-season game last night against East Grinstead with 4 trialists in their line up and were 1-0 down at half time but eventually won 5-1.

In his post match interview Steve King said they have a squad of 22 players because it'll be impossible to get through a games every 4 days for 3 months without injuries.

Sounds great Shredding Green. If only it was Slough playing.

Perhaps fans/club people can now appreciate my opinion that Slough are better suited to staying at a reasonable non - league level [Step 2  to Step 4], as it is sustainable, until we have the funding/a rich benefactor/high sponsor streams and larger crowds to mount a serious challenge to gain promotion to the National League.

It was a valiant effort by our players and managers last season but to no avail. As good as they were, I could not see that squad lasting long in the National Premier, unless there had been a big expensive recruitment campaign/change of players, over pre-season. Bakes and Unders may view it differently but of course, their ambition is for them to manage as high as they can.

There was nothing wrong with aspiration and giving it a go [in the National Premier] had we got promoted but are we, as a club really ready for the incurring costs the National League will bring?  Personally, I see it as a blessing we didn't get promoted.

To me as tragic as Coronavirus is, it might give some of us, a reality check on what is truly best for a club of our size.

But imo we won't get regular larger crowds/rich benefactor/high sponsor streams until we are promoted to the NL.

If we got to the NL the squad would have to be improved to survive in the NL, that is a given and hopefully being promoted into the NL will generate the extra money required to do this.

Contrary to what was originally planned and after discussions with the NL, Wealdstone will not be showing their game with Chesterfield in their clubhouse.

At present it looks as if Dartford are still going ahead with the live streaming of our game in their clubhouse.

What will be, will be. The bubble has to burst eventually, regarding the over inflated finances that go towards running these football clubs. Coronavirus could be the start of a drastic overhaul, for all supposed elite clubs. I don't want to see clubs go to the wall but I do believe there should be tighter controls on what each club is allowed to spend.

Currently I view Slough Town FC as a very well run non-league club. I don't view them as an elite club. All that you say, Reading Rebel, is possible but to me it is a risky proposition, as it's easy to bite off more than can be chewed.  With Steve Easterbrook's departure, I just felt that the club was steaming ahead, without really explaining to the fans how we could afford to play in the National League. Yes, we might of been able to sustain a 'flash in the pan' season or two in the NL but what happens if it were to go tits up, who picks up the pieces then?

At this precise time I think it's better to be cautious.

The worst that can happen is that we get relegated and as long as we don't have players on silly contracts we just build again in the NLS.

Nothing ventured nothing gained.

Hemel Hempstead have now finished laying their new 3G pitch. The infill is green rather than black which strengthens the appearance that it is a grass pitch.

With H&W and Billericay also laying a new pitch we must be playing over 60% of our games on 3G this year

I make it 8 teams out of 21 now have a 3G pitch which is roughly 38%.
