A couple of non league snippets

The amount of money some clubs are spending to achieve success, even at our level, at times defies belief.

Merthyr have just signed two players one of which is a Welsh under 21 international and has just been released by Swansea City. There is no way that this player is not costing a ridiculous amount of money to play for Merthyr in the Southern Premier.

I expect Swansea will be paying a big chunk.

I.m getting annoyed with the transfer dealings and the shocking amount of money being spent by premier league clubs and all hyped up on Sky.

Once the cricket is finished i will do away with spending for sky sport.

Non league football fo me every day of the week.

I doubt Swansea will pay a penny as he's been released and not loaned or duel reg'd etc.

Good luck to Merthyr as hopefully they can afford to pay his wages but it does highlight the difficulty in being successful, even at our level, when a newly promoted club can afford to sign this type of quality player.

I know we're talking about Wales U21 players but can they really be that good if they're dropping down to the Southern Premier?

There must have been plenty of clubs he could have gone to from Swansea but he chose Merthyr.

I know we don't know all the facts surrounding the transfer but the bottom line is he's dropped down from Swansea to the Southern Premier and I'm sure he wouldn't of gone there for a pittance.

Sorry but how is Merthyr signing someone released by Swansea any different to us signing Callum from Millwall . Players sign for various reasons and the catchment area around Swansea means Merthyr are a good choice. Good luck to them nice club and nice fans

Swansea are in the premier, Millwall in division 1?

There are probably some very good reasons why he signed for Merthyr but my main point being that for whatever reason he won't come cheap.

Thought this was worth mentioning, as seen in the non league newspaper today [27/9/2015], in the report on the Chalfont St Peter versus Beaconsfield SYCOB, was the immortal words of  ' Kofi Lockhart-Adams was the one to net three times this time round in front of a bumper crowd at the local derby '.

Now I don't know whether the reporter was on a wind up or whether he had been drinking but do you think 106 is a bumper crowd !

Thought it was hilarious when I read it. :D
