This shows the direction the FA are still going in.

Their brains must be in their backsides when are they going to get in the real world we are in the 21st century.

Its disgraceful.

Harrogate Town have said :-

"The agreement will stay in place until 10th October.

The 3G surface has been a brilliant facility not just for us but also the local community and it's grown our fan base. We hope that a lot of the club's community coaching can move from the stadium to a nearby school which also has a synthetic pitch.

Maintaining a grass surface at Wetherby Road will cost the club an additional £20,000 a year.

The cost of upkeep, along with the cost of removing the synthetic pitch and replacing it with grass, will be met by the club through increased funds brought in by being in the EFL.

We're fortunate that the English Football League grant is far more substantial than the National League grant. That eases the pain of losing the income that's derived from the 3G."

SG : The club has moved forwards a long way but now it has to move backwards to go forward into the English Football League. Even in these hard and difficult times!

Hoa long will it be before there out of business then.

Still a shocking decision bet the premier league are behind not rolling out 3G.

Arsene Wenger when playing Sutton in the Fa  Cup moaning that his so called multi millionaires do not like playing on 3G and it's a home advantage to elite semi professionals what a joke.

Yet their are European games played on it.

Unfortunately whilst the majority don't have 3G why would they vote it in if it's seen as an advantage?

The irony is most probably train all week on 3G.

The more clubs that have 3G then the advantage disappears. So if we were in Harrogate's position you would be delighted to see our 3G and the positives that has come with it being dug up.

Bet all clubs including premier league clubs play on it in some form or another Wenger was just using excuses in case they lost.

Who said I'd be delighted to see our 3G pitch dug up?

Of course I wouldn't but as it stands there is no choice and comes with the territory of getting promoted into the EFL.

The advantage will disappear as more clubs get 3G but whilst clubs have good grass pitches that are tended by groundsmen and other facilities to bring in some extra income why would they make the outlay of a 3G pitch?

As I said before a lot of clubs probably play on 3G for training etc but whilst 3G is seen as an advantage in games why would they vote for it.

I understand why non league clubs go with 3g but I think professional clubs should stick with grass.

Why would any club change their excellent grass pitch to a 3G one if there was no good reason to change?

Loss to the community .

All hope and finger crossed.

More cost.

Loss of revenue.

Grass can not be used 24/7/365 days

After this pandemic where is the extra money coming from when millions will be looking for new jobs that won.t be their.

As I said, unless there was good reason to change.

Havant have signed the leagues second top scorer Joe Iaciofano from St Albans.

Potentially a great signing. He was the one opposition player I googled after watching last season.

I would say Havant, Dorking, Ebbsfleet, Bath and Dartford are givens for the top 7. So 2 spots up for grabs which upto 10 could be in contention.

Shall Slough not bother then !

I expect Havant and Dartford to be fighting it out again for honours, while Dorking's chairman/manager is more than likely to be throwing money around to keep them in with a shout but I don't see them, Ebbsfleet or Bath as being untouchable/unbeatable. Bath have let go some good players so replacing them won't be a formality. Ebbsfleet may need to do a lot of rebuilding because of relegation form and may not hit the ground running. Dorking are no longer the surprise package and so a lot of managers will now know a lot more about them.
