A couple of non league snippets

No surprises at all considering the scale/height of the development. It seemed pretty obvious the developer was being far too ambitious and greedy. Apparently their ground needs extensive maintenance to bring it up to code so this could affect their NL standing.

I've been following this story on 'Get Surrey' and I think it really is a case of 'Development' v 'Local Authority.

Havant have stated that if they achieve promotion to the EFL and had to rip up their new 3G pitch the funds would be available to do this, no doubt funded in the main by the deep pockets of manager Paul Doswell.

Havant also think that 3G pitches will eventually be allowed into the EFL mainly as a consequence of the corona virus.

Maidenhead have released 8 players and have signed Danilo Orsi-Dadamo from Hampton and ex Norwich city youngster Josh Coley.

A notable signing for Billericay is experienced midfielder Jai Reason from Dover.

Ex Berkhamsted assistant manager Lee Bircham has been appointed the new manager of Hemel with Steve Bateman as his assistant.

Has the dynamics changed as I thought Steve was the manager at Berkhamsted with Lee the assistant?

Looks like Hemel have appointed Lee Bircham as the first team manager, while Steve Bateman is now titled the assistant manager. How much Steve likes being classed as that, is anyone's guess but I just watched a video on Hemel's official website of Lee Bircham being interviewed and he comes across very well, and sing's Steve's Bateman's praises, so it may still very much be a partnership, just not with the joint manager titles.

If Slough do stay in the Conference South,I will be looking forward to seeing them play Hemel Hempstead. Fair play to their chairman, too for setting the cost of an adult ticket price at £10 quid, that's great value.

Only guessing but I reckon Steve Bateman just wants a bit of an easier life in his old age  :laugh(2):

You're very quiet these day's 3spirit.

You must be a busy man  ?

RR, to be honest, I've lost interest these last few months in football, in general. In the scheme of things, it just isn't important.

Things regarding non league football [amateur/semi pro] I still like ie, the Hemel appointments/signings and watching a match somewhere but as I've said previously, I'm not bothered if Slough do play in the National Premier.

Since Steve Easterbrook stepped down, the club seems to be heading in the direction of money means everything/the professional game, so this hasn't particularly made it any more appealing to me either. I don't believe in crowdfunding  but perhaps it's the sign of the times.

Of course, I want Slough to beat Dartford [ like I want them to beat any team they face] and thus progress but to me it's not the be all end all. If promotion is achieved I am intending to cherry pick certain Slough games, as the ones I watch but will favour attending Beaconsfield's matches this coming season.  I'm not going to give up being a Slough Town FC fan, though.

As for this fans forum, I still like reading it and participating in it, when I feel like it. I'm not keen when a football forum is turned into a slanging match and becomes political, as that is not what this forum is supposed to be about. However, I do believe in free speech,so sometimes straying off topic can be enlightening, if somewhat bewildering/bonkers at times.
