Two players of interest at Thatcham is ex Rebel Matt Day and keeper Paul Strudley who was with us during a pre season.

I wouldn't be surprised if those two follow him to Hungerford although Matt Day is getting a bit long in the tooth for NLS standard of football.

Matt Day long in the tooth and definitely wide of the girth!

I don't know if anyone else has noticed or is interested,(probably not considering the result and what it meant),but yesterday afternoon Southport F.C. put up on their YouTube channel the full 90 minutes

(with "home" slanted commentary) of the 1998 F.A. Trophy semi-final 2nd leg v. Slough Town. I have watched Danny Bailey's goal after 30 minutes (which was a better goal than I'd remembered it),but haven't

yet been able to force myself to watch much more.

Have to say I really liked the all-white away kit we played in on this day.

Certainly the one that got away with the 'off side' goal for Southport who then lost the final 1-0 to Cheltenham.

I have just watched a programme on Gold featuring Ricky Tomlinson and Ralf Little.

Is my mind playing tricks on me or did Ralf Little play for Windsor and Eton against Slough around the time that we were groundsharing at Slug Meadow? I seem to recall that he conceded a penalty as well.

Perhaps someone can verify that I am not making this up.

Absolutely true. He played as a left back.

That would be fun having Steve Bateman in opposition unless of course we win the play-offs.

Not if Havants letter to the NL has any clout. They’re asking for the top 2 teams to be promoted, no play offs deciding the 2nd promotion from the NLS

Well they would wouldn't they.

Not sure what they mean by 'as per League Two we will not be attempting play-offs'
