A couple of non league snippets

The season has not ended so the same rules should apply as to a game if it has not run its course - no outcome.
This thing is not going to be over soon. We all need to accept that . I’m not sure we will even be in a position to start a new season in August .

My solution would be you would aim to re-start this season in September and finish before Christmas . Then all being well start a new ‘half season’ on Boxing Day . You do this by dividing every league into A and B leagues and only playing 20 or 22 games. (depending on league size) For example It would mean the Premiership A would be the top 10 teams at the finish of this season and the Prem B the bottom 10 .

the A league would be a race for the title and the Europe spots and would be competitive probably to the last game and the B league would be a battle against relegation and survival in that league to the following season.Replicate this down the leagues and you have a reasonable competition at all levels and the season finished in time for the Euros and are now back on the normal cycle .

In this scenario everyone gets to finish this season and get their just rewards and then to play in a competition albeit unusual , that has the usual features of promotion and relegation based on performance before returning to normal.

not a bad idea stan ,but if that is unpalatable for the leagues to do how about finishing this season (not a great deal of games left to play) and play them instead of a pre season.

Assuming the COVID19 virus is completely eradicated in time.  Somehow, I fear that is unlikely.

Promising young manager with a proven track record at a lower level and used to having a small budget so a good appointment for Hungerford.

Struck me as an appointment which neither party can really lose with. If Hungerford are still a NLS club when football returns, he can give it his best shot there with very limited resources and expectations, and if they voluntarily drop down to Step 3 or even Step 4, he's got the pedigree and players from his successful Thatcham team to take with him.

Yes Its only a couple of seasons since he was parading round Wembley with th FA Vase and if this season hadn't  been cut short would probably have been promoted  He has also stated that he understands the current finances and can work within them probably as Matt says with a number of Thatcham players.

Two players of interest at Thatcham is ex Rebel Matt Day and keeper Paul Strudley who was with us during a pre season.

I wouldn't be surprised if those two follow him to Hungerford although Matt Day is getting a bit long in the tooth for NLS standard of football.

Having watched the Manny Williams interview, I thought he might of been in the frame for the Hungerford job,as he has played for them and it would be a good job to start with, given the level. Perhaps he will be on the radar if Danny Williams fails to deliver.

Didn't Manny say that he's applied for some managerial positions but just missed out?

For his first managerial role the Hungerford job would certainly have been a baptism of fire for Manny.

Maybe a few levels below for a club on the way up might suit him better for his first job in management.

Strudley actually made 1 appearance for us at Biggleswade 3 days after Mark Scott broke his neck. Seem to remember he may have been culpable for at least one of the goals in a 3-0 defeat. Biggleswade keeper that night was Ian brown, who did spend a pre season with us. It was his final season playing football and is one of my all time favourite keepers to have a laugh with behind the goal!!!

Ian Brown was certainly one of the best keepers around at the time but I seem to remember the problem was where he lived and having no transport.
