A couple of non league snippets

Didcot Town are in financial trouble and are appealing for donations to survive. They won’t be the last sadly.

It's sad to see any non league club in financial trouble, and it can't be easy running a club at such a level but sometimes I wonder why clubs overspend to exist beyond their evident supporter base. Unless a club has a wealthy backer, these type of clubs are always going to struggle eventually. Apart from Oxford United, Oxfordshire is hardly a hot bed for successful football clubs.

Unfortunately they could well escape the drop if the season gets scrapped.

If the health crisis continues throughout April, could the powers that be agree to treat all unplayed matches as draws and rearrange the play-off dates when public health has been given the all clear.

I think this will go down as the season that never was . There is no way this is going to be over in a few weeks . Therefore dont see any chance of re starting football before September. Indeed there may well be question marks over next season getting started at all . When they get to a stage that they can lift restrictions when this outbreak has declined large gatherings of people will be one of the last to resume !

Not sure Stan.

Don't forget you're more likely to catch the corona virus in small indoor gatherings than large outdoor ones.

Any size gatherings haven't been banned yet but I think as the virus progresses the Gov. will begin draconian measures to force the public into isolation measures.

When you say that the public will be forced into isolation measures, do you mean that we will have to support Windsor?

The Rugby Football Union may set a blueprint for the soccer authorities to consider applying. The RFU "has confirmed the end of the season for all levels below The Premiership and aim to ensure fair and reasonable outcomes".

I wonder why the RFU are not including the Premiership?

Due to the Rugby Union World Cup last autumn, the final round of Premiership matches were scheduled for 6th. June 2020.

Doesn’t really matter in that case as no play off games will be played. Probably be decided by the PPG system meaning Wealdstone are promoted along with Havant. Not exactly fair but I guess this can’t rumble on indefinitely but what a waste of effort to not get that shot at promotion.

I really don't see how they can promote and relegate teams without knowing the final outcome to the season.

Without looking there must be teams at the top and at the bottom who can still overtake the teams above them.

I know it's exceptional times but how unfair will it be on some teams if they do.

If this is true and no further games will be played, as others have also stated how are the powers that be going to decide who will be relegated and who will be promoted.

One likely outcome is that some teams who feel the they have been unfairly relegated or unfairly not promoted are likely to take legal action.

The fallout of tnis will probably rumble on for a long time.
