A couple of non league snippets

It’s not been unusual recently for a step 2 club to make it to the final of the FA Trophy.... both North Ferriby & Brackley have won it recently.

Not a great deal of prize or TV money in it, but a fantastic experience & day out at Wembley, with a crowd of usually around 40,000.

Could have asked him about it last weekend!

I was sat in the stand and was quite tempted to mention that and his other memorable moment for Slough - turning up ten minutes before kick off and warming up by running from one side of the pitch to another before getting a hat trick against Heybridge Swifts!

I bet the FA are so hoping Notts County make the final or it could be another embarrassing low non league attendance at Wembley. Can’t imagine a Concord v Aveley final attracting more than 5,000?

Barnet would obviously not play in a Concord Rangers v Aveley final but they seemed very keen on being in the final after the match on Saturday. Barnet supporters do come out in large numbers for special occasions.

There are also all the supporters who took advantage of the £10 early bird tickets and you get the FA Vase Final as well. Still a chance of Worcester City v Wroxham.

It must be getting very close to the day when Glenn Tamplin is sectioned!

He's  had yet another conversation with God and He has told him to forgive all the haters and unblock the 545 people he has blocked  as God will protect him and allow noone to penetrate him!

Romford did have a second consecutive win earlier in the week 3-2.

Wroxham are the new FA Vase winner favourites. Worcester City won't be in the FA Vase Final ... but just how much did the inside of the left post cost them in this extraordinary replay against Atherstone Town at The Victoria Ground, Bromsgrove?

This 4 minutes 49 seconds video is of outstanding quality and very well worth watching : -

Dorking Wanderers have been granted planning permission to extend Meadowbank.

Not surprising really, as Surrey F.A. have their offices there.

I can't find any link to the Dorking Advertiser report at the moment.

Interesting development Enfield v Lewes  Enfield arranged a 930 pitch inspection and the referee  passed it fit  When Lewes were informed they declined to travel citing potential dangers on the way there   Enfield  now confirming  game off.

Good 1-0 win for Chippenham against the mighty Maidstone.

Maidstone had 2 players sent off in the first half.

The pitch passed a 1.30pm inspection with referee Robert Massey-Ellis warning ‘it might not be pretty’. He wasn’t wrong.

A crazy end to the first half saw Maidstone reduced to nine men and Chris Lewington save a penalty.

Chesmain was the first player to go, shown a straight red after sliding in on George Rigg in the 38th minute.

The Bluebirds man seemed to suggest Chesmain had gone in with his studs showing but Maidstone didn’t seem too impressed with the decision.

Elokobi followed three minutes later after wiping out Rigg in the box, ending his afternoon.

There was some debate over whether the linesman’s flag had already gone up for offside but referee Massey-Ellis awarded the penalty and stuck by his decision.

Scott Twine eventually stepped up in the final minute of normal time but Lewington made a fine save diving to his left.

HT 0-00!!!
