Romford had a 3-1 win today which has caused Glenn Tamplin to revise his pledge to fans

"You have my word  We will not be relegated"

FA Trophy today sees Concord go through on pens when 2-2AET

Chelmsford bow out 3-1 away at Aveley, Dorking bow out too, 4-2 at home to AFC Fylde

Now means our away game at Dorking goes on ahead on Feb 29th ?

How often are there 5 Saturdays in Feb ruary?

It can only happen in a leap year when the five Saturdays are on 1st., 8th., 15th., 22nd. and 29th. I calculate that this happens once in every twenty-eight years.

To prove my arithmetic, the previous such year was 1992 and the next such year will be 2048.

Congratulations to Rebels for a magnificent three points today after last Saturday's frustrations.

There were only 75 at Romford v Felixstowe and Walton United.

I was at The Hive where only 763 watched an extraordinary FA Trophy 3rd. Round tie. Barrow had been the better side and nearly opened the scoring on 57 minutes when a shot was deflected on to the Barnet crossbar. Astonishingly, that was their last shot of the match; twelve minutes later Barnet were 3-0 up and had four more good chances thereafter.

Thanks for the maths lesson I'm  surprised it's that often

75 at Romford probably the rest of Tamplins squad?

There are seven days in a week. There is a leap year every four years. Every seventh leap year the 1st. and 29th. fall on a Saturday. So 7 x 4 = every 28 years!

Shredding Green There's a leap year every four years unless it's a centurial  year  ie 1700 1800 1900 unless the centurial year is divisible by 400  that's why 1600 and 2000 were leap years.

Yes, I knew there was something like that without knowing exactly what it was. Just for the record, there will be five Saturdays in February every twenty-eight yeas until 2972 ..... then 3000 will not be a leap year as it's 7.5 x 400 and I'll let them work out when the next year with five Saturdays in it is nearer the time. Will there be anyone around?

By then Slough Town will have been in the Premiership for ages?

I notice that both Nathan and Callum Webb were sent off yesterday for Beaconsfield who were playing away at Wimborne Town.

My question is whether anyone can recall when two brothers playing for the same team were both sent off in the same match.

Likely contenders may be the Bamford brothers who plied their trade for Uxbridge around 15-20 years ago, but this is just speculation.

On a side note, does anybody else recall the so called friendly game away to Uxbridge in the early 2000s which was abandoned at half time when Uxbridge had been reduced to 9 men in the first half?

Yes I do! One of the Bamford brothers stamped on the head of a Slough player!

Wasn't it Andy Ballard who had his head stamped on?

I seem to remember Russell doing some amazing impromptu commentary and Roy coming out at half time to tell us the game was abandoned.
