A couple of non league snippets

With a squad of 24 players including 3 goalkeepers and reportedly keeping to a strict budget this season it seems the Wealdstone management are going to get the begging bowl out again.

This is after recently shelling out a fee for an additional keeper and supporters having already shelled out 25k+ from their own pockets this season.

From my understanding there are over 400 supporters who have shares in Wealdstone Football Club and as such are effectively part owners of the club...... so if the Manager needs funds to keep the squad together and give him the best chance of getting promoted is it unreasonable for him to ask all those 400+ owners/shareholders if they would be willing to contribute?

Isn’t that one of the basic concepts of a community owned football club?

Not sure about the shares bit but they do have about 400+ season ticket holders.

Certainly some mixed feelings on the Wealdstone forum about asking supporters to dig into their pockets again.

I suppose it's a case of if you don't ask you don't get.

A bit later than anticipated but Bobby Wilkinson is the new Bracknell Town manager.

That is until a bigger club comes calling.

Be careful what you wish for!

Their official statement on their twitterfeed describes him as " our new permanent first team manager"

Hemel have signed striker Nico Muir on loan from Hartlepool to try to solve their goal scoring problems.

BW is the last person I'd wish for.

Theyve signed him for an initial 4 weeks  Their twitterfeed mentions his high scoring season with Hendon 2017/18 but doesn't mention  his 6 goals in 43 games since !

Aylesbury United FC  are bidding for their old ground Buckingham Road, at an auction on 17th December, for a guide price of £500,000.

I do hope they manage to buy it. Like Slough, a travesty why they lost their ground in the first place. Be ironic if they get it back, after all this time.

Expected to sell for over a 1 million.

Seems there is a sporting covenant on the land which is why it hasn't been sold for all these years.

I went to one match there. Maidstone United won 0-2 and later the Conference title in the 1988/9 season. A great match and atmosphere but although Aylesbury United had won the Isthmian League title the previous season, they were relegated back there after just the one season in the Conference.

Went there to watch the Rebels, not a happy hunting ground for us! I hope Aylesbury Utd. are successful in this as I personally miss the old rivalry and it's criminal that town doesn't have a club playing at a decent level, especially now that Aylesbury (Vale as was) has been relegated on ground grading (for not having big enough dressing rooms!).

Also notable in the Trophy today  Highflying National League Bromley were beaten 3-0 by Dorking Wanderers

Maidenhead  pulled back to 2-2 by Hemel H went on to win 4-2  but instead of their usual 1300/1400 gate  just 387 paid on the gate

The other notable scalp and arguably the result of the round was Royston beating Boreham Wood 2-0.
