Just tried to find this on You Tube, certain I've seen it there. However, the 1998 Southport Trophy semi popped up with video of their equalising goal on the day, which I was certain was offside. Never seen footage of it before, so this confirms it!

Always seemed a very genuine guy and with his achievements in the fa cup especially I would suggest it’s a bit of a shock. I would presume the Ballard and foster referred to in the article are our ex players (Ballard certainly) just in time for our meeting on Saturday!!! ?

Surprised at the timing. He’s got them into the FA Cup 1st Round which has already earnt them tens of thousands. Yes they’re 2nd bottom but there’s plenty of time to get out of that mess, it’s not as if they were expecting a play off push was it? Very embarrassing for whoever gave the manager a full time contract only 6 months ago... Lets hope they don’t appoint a new manager before Saturday.

The ball travels a long way before the camera reaches the player so offside or not is still any ones guess.

Although they are second from bottom I think it's still poor timing and a shock because they are still in the FA Cup.

Their recruitment process is TBA at a later date so highly unlikely that a new manager will be in place before Saturday.

Could go one of two ways on how it will affect the players.

Sorry Bernie I thought you meant from the initial break but as you say the Southport player who was virtually on the goal line and had the final touch of the ball looked well offside.

Hope Bakes didn't put any money on Eastbourne after these 2 statements from him earlier this year!

"RR Eastbourne will not struggle next season."

and

"Knowing what is happening there as I said they will not be down the bottom, more the other end."
