I think he could have chosen a better supported club.

Wouldn't think he would care about that, I expect all he is worried about is how much he is going to get paid, and possibly, is it a club that can put him in the shop window to go further up. Call me cynical in my old age but who isn't wrapped up with materialistic aims?!

I'm sure Boreham Wood must be one of the lowest payers in the NL.

Lowest payers in a near 100% full time league probably means he’s quadrupled what he was on at Oxford City. Yes BW have decent facilities and he probably doesn’t need to relocate but I’d be surprised if they’re challenging for honours this season. With a small fan base they’re at their highest level so he probably sees this as an deal ‘stepping stone’ move.

Ex Hemel goalkeeper Laurie Walker has signed for Hampton and Richmond on loan from MK Dons.

Bracknell lost 1-4 to Wealdstone tonight but at half time it was 0-0. Lot of triallists second half for Wealdstone.

By all accounts he went to MK Dons as 3rd choice keeper and is now on a season long loan at H&R.

Certainly a masterstroke by Gary McCann and could be the deciding factor in helping Hampton survive the drop.

I wonder where Simon Grant [Marlow] keeper will play, perhaps it's Hungerford not Hampton?

22 year old defender Michee Efete signs for Wealdstone from Billericay. Appears to be highly rated. I don't know anything about him.

One I do know a bit about is attacking midfielder Darren Foxley, who played for Hungerford last season, he has been signed by Ian Allinson at St Albans. Good signing I would say.

There were a couple of conflicting comments about Billy Clifford last night.... one that he had signed for Wealdstone & the other that he had signed for Hemel Hempstead.

Are either true?

Considering Wealdstone were supposed to be cutting back on their expenditure for this season, they don't appear to be having trouble attracting players, or keeping some very good ones from last season, so their budget can't be that bad. Hemel, on the other hand, seem openly to be splashing the cash,  so while I would be disappointed to see Billy Clifford join either of these clubs in preference to ours, money appears to be his motivation and there is nothing our managers will be able to do about it.

I don't see it as the end of Slough's season without him, though. Yes, he played a major part in our run of wins in the back end of last season but on the evidence of last night we have plenty of other options to cope with his loss.

I know we’ve played just the 1 friendly, but we currently have 20 players so there isn’t room for anymore incoming players. Obviously I don’t think we’d keep to that size but I doubt our managers are actively pursuing anyone.

3 aren't signed up yet, so the 20 figure isn't watertight.

I think it's more to the point that last season under Bobby Wilkinson Wealdstone were chucking money at players. This season they are still spending money but more sensibly.

Personally I wouldn't be disappointed if Billy Clifford joined Wealdstone or Hemel or any other club at our level.

If a players sole motivation is money then I wouldn't want him at Slough.
