Chippenham have signed Salisbury's top scorer Luke Hopper, while ex Bath City striker Nick McCootie has left Chippenham to sign for Weston Super Mare.

I like Gary McCann as a manager but think he has his work cut out this year to keep Hampton out of the relegation positions. Initially I think they will do ok but I see them struggling come the end of the season,if they can not afford to strengthen come January.

I wrote down my guessimate on what I think the table will look like come the end of the season but obviously it will change,as signings are announced, squads are sorted and pre-season starts. Currently I have Havant,Bath, Welling,Hemel, Dartford,Maidstone and Billericay as the top seven[in that order], followed in 8th by Chelmsford,9th Dulwich,10th Slough, 11th Chippenham,12th St Albans, 13th Eastbourne, 14th Dorking, 15th Oxford City, 16th Braintree, 17th Wealdstone, 18th Hampton, 19th Weymouth, and the bottom three of 20th Hungerford, 21st Concord and 22nd Tonbridge.

What do others think?

.........but is that because you're a man of Kent or is it a Kentish man? ?

Very possible but like a few sides they have had a massive rebuild after the disastrous season they've just had.

Having John Still as director of football will certainly help, too.

According to Billericay’s Twitter, Billy is ‘in talks’ at the moment. I was under the impression he was still in contract? Maybe ‘in talks’ mean discussing reducing/ending/extending his contract.

It does sound like his contract has expired and talks of a possible extension are taking place.

With only Billy and Nathan Minhas 'in talks' and a rather ambiguous twitter statement saying that there is likely to be 1 or 2 additions and possibly 1 or 2 departures does seem to leave things in the balance.

In fairness I’ve not seen much of Billy so can others who have comment on his value to our squad? It seems we’ll only sign one more player so with trialists looking to impress plus other players we may have had an eye on becoming available throughout pre-season, i wonder if Billy was available right now if we’d sign him or bide our time a little?

I am a Man of Kent as I was born to the south of the River Medway. But I don't think that that will have too much weight on Maidstone United's fantastic season.

As mentioned previously Billy is on contract at Billericay for another year, and signed when they went full time, so hopefully you can deduce why he may not be making any decisions on his future at this stage.

We spoke with him at the end of the season, and like him as a player and lad, however for him to rejoin the club a lot of things would have to fall into place, not saying it will or won’t happen at this stage as genuinely do not know.

We probably have space for one more in the squad, we have one possibly two coming in on trial, and have another potential option, but we are quite happy where we are at this stage, and if something happens before pre season I would be surprised, also quite relaxed on if that extra player comes from a trialist during pre season, or even after the season has started.

What you haven’t seen him play in a slough game?

If Billy Clifford has another year left on his contract it does seem a bit strange that he is 'in talks' for next season.

Unless of course there are clauses in his contract that allow the terms to be adjusted.

RR there is no IF Billy Clifford has another year, he does...

No it means what I wrote... I’ve not seen him play that many games for Slough. So I was asking other fans who had seen more to give their opinion?

Hey I’d love to watch every game home and away but family and other commitments get in the way sometimes!
