After losing a lot of last seasons squad, the new Concord manager has currently made about 8 new signings with 6 coming from the leagues below.

With the amount of money the club must have been shelling out last season and failing in their promotion bid it's no surprise they are looking to make a drastic cut in next seasons budget. 

I'll be very surprised if they get anywhere near the play-offs next season.

I agree it is our forward line that needs the main attention but our midfield creaked a bit[so to speak] before Billy Clifford's arrival. On Ryan Hope playing for Hendon, I don't see that as a negative[bearing in mind that he dropped lower to play for Southall with some pals of his]. He's doing something right to be recognised for his talent by Paul Fairclough.

Bakes has poured cold water on the notion of Ryan Hope coming back. I expected him to say that but for me I was just highlighting a type of player I would add to the squad,as we progress.Needn't be this pre-season or necessarily this season[depending on our form/Billy Clifford's return] but I would be on the lookout for young,hungry centre midfielder [probably from Step 3] with the attributes of the young Ryan Hope ie someone willing to do a lot of the donkey work in midfield by closing down/tackling/marking players on and off the ball/very fit, mobile around the field.

It's a very under rated element to a team. Centre midfield is one of the hardest positions to play in the team.You predominantly need to be fit to play there. I would be looking for an understudy/back up for Lee Togwell.What better player to learn off of. 

It's not an expensive acquisition either, and to me it's thinking ahead and not putting all your eggs in one basket ! You don't always need to go down the proven player route.

I might be a slow drying paint but your barbed comments are not very nice and make you sound bitter. I suggest you go back to finishing school and learn how to play fair.

Fair play to Alan Dowson at Woking who has stated that he will not be dealing with players agents.

They either want to play for Woking minus their agent or they can play somewhere else. 

Dowson has also said he will not be issuing a retained players list due to a request from the players who are being released to help them in their search for a new club.

Epic Rebel, it was not mean't as an insult. My wording was for you to see the wood through the trees. I'll apologise if you were offended but now you know how I felt when Rebel1965 called me 'slow drying paint' !

I come on to this forum to talk about non-league football/ Slough FC/ and what's happening at the club,that is all. I don't come on here to mix it with narrow minded,wind up merchants. I find certain people seem to have issues with me but I don't have issues with them, until they cross the line in the sand, by being unfair to me.
