A couple of non league snippets

What's going on at Maidenhead, £100 for an adult season ticket?

Maidenhead deserve a bit of credit here, a season ticket for Conference South football for £100 is brilliant. Even keeping match day admission to just £10 an adult is exceptional considering other Local clubs at that level are/were £12 and lower levels are £10.

Despite a number of years struggling at the foot of the league, crowds have improved over the last two seasons so they must be doing something right.

Looks an exciting time for them under the new 'devolution' as they are calling it. Start winning a few games and for those prices they should attract even more through the gates.

They do have a good proposition with the new stand and soon to be 3g pitch.

Easier for them to charge lower prices too with an increasing gate to spread the cost unlike like Slough who would have to charge a higher season ticket to cover extra costs associated with ground rental etc.

Understand why they can charge less but it's a good move on their part. I'd probably pay £200 for my Slough season ticket but if I was someone in Slough looking for a local team to go and watch, lets be honest, they are a more attractive proposition - easier to get to, cheaper, nicer facilities and better standard of football.

I think we can learn a lot from the way Maidenhead go about their business if/when we get the ground up and running.

Apparently Maidenhead already have a 4G pitch as Hayes and Yeading are saying they will possibly play their friendly against Grays on it.

Maidenhead have shelved plans to convert to a 4G pitch for at least 12 months, but are looking to build an artificial surface in the 'barn' to the side of the changing rooms for training and hiring out to 5 a side leagues.

Hayes & Yeading of course already have a 3G facility at their old Yeading ground, of which I believe Slough played a friendly on last pre season?
