A couple of non league snippets

Might have missed the post but I'm surprised no one on the Slough forum has mentioned the passing of Alan Turvey.

I don't know the man personally but I remember him being at, one of the hastily arranged meetings at Wexham Park, when it looked like Slough Town FC was going to fold, and him putting his considerable backing in to keep our club afloat. Think he was the Ryman League chairman at the time, if memory serves me correct.

So RIP Alan Turvey.

Yes, sad to lose Alan Turvey this week...a man vital to the history of the club, keeping the door open to the Isthmian League to prevent us dropping through the divisions and safeguarding our future in the short and long term. A nice man, too, by all accounts. RIP.

Last week an Eastleigh fan who had subjected  Ebbsfleet keeper Nathan Ashmore to prolonged verbal abuse was found guilty in court and fined £650 and ordered to pay £600 compensation and £300 costs and a £65 victim surcharge A total of £1615!

Nathan Ashmore  jumped the barriers at the end of Saturdays game at Boreham Wood to confront people again abusing him and was escorted away by stewards  and players Perhaps he thinks he's found a nice little earner!

Just 39 turned up to watch Truro today.

Sad times for Truro Their chairman is claiming that they could go  back home now but a number of players who signed understanding that they would play at Torquay have said they'd leave if that happens
