It’s wrong that you consistently go on about these tall/big strikers it’s getting a little obsessive.

You're the one going on about it !

I said my piece ages ago on the subject. I think it is you, that has got the fixation.

I’ll let others decide this one as you’re obviously delusional.

OK shorty, ha ha!

Paul Hodges scores for Woking today.

Last seasons southern league golden boot winner, Brandon Goodship got himself a hat trick in Weymouth’s opener.

Yes he scored BUT Oxford were down to 9 men at the time, Oxford still had time to get the their third red card of the game.

1. Oxford had 10 men on the pitch. But it doesn't matter as you still have to be able to score no matter how many your up against. It is often quite surprising how often teams fail to score when they have a numerical advantage.

2. Oxford only got 2 red cards in the game. (Jefford 77, Ruddick 88)

3. Hodges was named Woking man of the match.

Paul Hodges is a very good player, it is understandable that Neil and Jon didn't take the chance on him last year as he was still young and we had some very good players in wide areas already. Had Woking not come in for him it would be interesting to know if we would have given him another chance

Hodges was only on the pitch for last 35 minutes and it seems he was given MOTM purely because all the other players were so poor.

Woking are top with 3 wins from 3 but if you watch the after game video from Dowson you'd think they were struggling.

In regards to Hodges we liked him as a player last year, however he was stepping up from step 5 and at his age he wanted to play every week, and with Dobbo, Warren and Lenchy at the time, he wasn’t going to get that game time for us, obviously proved the right decision as we got promoted, however I do think he has something about him, and not surprised he is doing well at Woking.

In terms of would we have gone for him, then the answer is yes if we had stayed at step 3, however we didn’t go for him in the summer and maybe that is more about how we play formation wise, and where we would have fitted him in, plus also again what we already have.

In the report I read:-

65’ Godwin-Malife (RED)

77’ Jefford (Second YELLOW)

79’ Hodges scores

88’ Ruddick (Second YELLOW)

It might be wrong but I have obviously read the same report as epicrebel

Thanks for the info Neil.

Both Twitter feeds have a yellow only for Godwin malife, so does the Oxford city report.

65 | Yellow card to Godwin-Malife of Oxford City.

65’ Godwin-Malife is the next man to go into the book for pulling his man down in the Woking half.

Woking 2-2 Oxford City

And finally from the Oxford report

“Moments after winning the penalty, Godwin-Malife was the next player to be put into the referee’s notebook. The young defender stopped a quick breakaway as he brought his man down inside the Woking half.”

Who ever sent in the result to the Official site would of got a report form from the Official (ref) which would have all the cards on it and sent in the result to the Official site.  Notice I use the word Official unless that gets change that is the Official result.

You could blindly read what is on the league website (who are never ever wrong, except when they get the wrong goalscorers names and occasionally the wrong score).

Or you could read and listen to the people who were actually there in person. With the twitter accounts who report on the game live with what is actually happening. Or perhaps listen to the Oxford City managers interview after the game about what actually happened.

Notice I use the word actually as it is what truthfully happened and not what has been mis reported.

If none of this is sufficient enough for you then perhaps you should watch the highlights of what actually happened and you will see 2 red cards not 3.

Just got the NL Paper and it’s littered with errors! They have Ben Harris in the photo caption stating he scored the winner but then name Warren as the scorer in the report!!! I don’t buy it anymore (my wife lovingly bought it for me!) as it’s not value for money for the actual content that interests me. I’m surprised it’s still going and can imagine their sales are a lot lower than when I was purchasing it.
