A couple of non league snippets

He is no doubt very fit seeing as he’s fitness coach at Sutton! I’m just saying that his goal record is poor for a striker and as mentioned Hampton were the only interested club when he was ‘offered’ around. I’d much rather have Manny ‘The Hat’ Williams in any case.

Glennie, not sure Hampton were the only interested club but he's been on loan at Hampton in the past so probably the obvious choice of club.

Alex Wall has been released by Dartford and has signed for Concord Rangers.

Chesham have signed the useful left back Ben Walster from Hitchin.

BBC article about very dry pitches at non league grounds and possible delays to the start of the season for some clubs and some others making provisions for switching revenues :-

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-45034546

Has anyone heard any reports about the condition of Chippenham & Gloucester’s pitches?

On the Chippenham forum dated 27/7/2018 there's a thread about their pitch. Doesn't sound good to be honest.

They put a picture of the pitch on Twitter and by the response of the Chippenham fans,it's supposed to be a brown scorched mess that hasn't been watered !

Beaconsfield Town have announced that they won't be printing programs for their home games this coming season. Instead a downloadable program will be available for those who require it on the day before the game is played

Although I can understand the rationale behind this due to costs I am a bit of a traditionalist and like to buy a programme to read at half time and reflect on after the game. I fear that some of the downloadable programmes will be no more than teams sheets

Paul Hodges scores for Woking today.

Last seasons southern league golden boot winner, Brandon Goodship got himself a hat trick in Weymouth’s opener.

By all accounts he played well when he came on as sub but he scored when Oxford City had gone down to ten men, as Ben Jefford was sent off.

How unfortunate, Chesham lost at home to Merthyr 0-3.

Beaconsfield got creditable draw 2-2 with Salisbury.

Hodges is a midget (well under 6ft...) so 3Spirit will never like or rate him!!!

I said he had played well.

I like Perry Coles and I liked Danny Burnell as a player [but not particularly his personality] so you are wrong about that, GlenSTFC.

I just prefer a goal poacher type to play alongside a powerhouse or target man striker.

What's wrong with that?
