The newly appointed management duo at Burnham have left/been sacked just read on Twitter. Obviously no info yet which way it went but seems strange they've not been given a chance to get them back up (although I very much doubt they'd be challenging).

As a guess I wouldn't be surprised if they go for the ex Hanwell manager/coach of Ray Duffy and Mark Adams, the duo have been relatively successful.

Feel sorry for the departing managers, half of a season isn't long enough for any manager to work wonders.

Perhaps Burnham couldn't afford to keep their managers?

I might be wrong but I thought the Hanwell managers left because of lack of funds to progress, so I'm not sure Burnham would be the answer.

Burnham must have more money than Hanwell surely?

I would have thought that, from either side, that would be appealing to each other but it is only a guess.

They may be heading somewhere else for all I know.

Perhaps Burnham's reputation for not paying players goes before them?

A good few seasons ago under Martin Deaner's leadership, seem to remember our players had the same problem. So we mustn't be too judgemental !

Hungerford's manager Bobby Wilkinson is being linked with the Maidenhead job.

Hungerford, for a few seasons now, have been spending big to try to get promoted to the Conference and have been rewarded with an average gate this season of 147, perhaps Wilkinson has come to the conclusion it really is like trying to flog a dead horse.

Hungerford another club chasing the dream... an average crowd of less than 150 in what could have been a promotion season, why do these owners spend such money on a club who have already passed their potential? They're never going to be a well supported club and it just seems a waste of money but hey it's their choice of course but the only worry is when they get bored of it all or it doesn't work out how they wished and walk away.

Glen that's my part concern with Slough, For 5 or so years supporters wanted promotion (as most said out of this sh---y league). Now it's happened the average crowd has gone up yes but by only the away support. Personally I thought the average would of been between 300 and 350.

We (as a club/supporters) need to get this up to help with (without making a list) the running of OUR Club.

NO MORE I don't like Beaconsfield (was Windsor) I'll come along when we get back to Slough. If you support this club it don't matter were we play. If every one of us had that attitude no one would be at games and the club would fold.

WE need more of the likes of Kay willing to go that extra yard (ok she's mad) so get these so called supports back we (us as a club) need them.

£10 can only go so far, so the more of the £10's the better.

NOW the rant is over,

I think we have the best Supporters by far when needed band together for the club.

In part to improve home attendances we need an improvement in home performances.

Most clubs at our level perform better at home than away, but we have been pretty much the same home and away (7-6-9 at home 6-6-10 away).

In addition, I think we have been comprehensively beaten by 3 goals or more at home on five occasions (Chesham, Poole, Redditch, Cambridge and Dunstable)...... and throw the home cup defeat to a side two divisions (?) below us and sometimes it has been difficult getting enthusiastic about attending home matches after those performances.

I know what your saying,.,,..but being a fare weather support is not helpful, If and I mean if every Slough supporter convinced 1 other person to come along to a game that'll be 500ish. Maybe 1/4 will come back again that'll put the attendance up by 70ish.

I'm sure this could be done???

Apologies, I'm not yet a fanatic...... I'm still at the supporter stage, where for £10 and three hours of my time on a Saturday afternoon or Tuesday evening, I am looking to be entertained.

ER, how do you know our increase in our average size is only down to away support?

The two biggest factors in our attendances increasing are performances on the pitch and playing back in Slough.

The loyal supporters will come to watch Slough wherever we play but the floating supporters will only come occasionally but not on a regular basis until we are either back in Slough or we are challenging for promotion.

I think Slough have a lot of  floating supporters that don't turn up to every home game but do come out the woodwork for bigger matches ie cup games/games of importance.

I also think we've picked up a few newbies in the last few years, after the successful times we've had under Steve Bateman and Bakes and Unders.

I know of at least, three that stand by me at games.

We also have the potential to add more youngsters through our youth teams ie friends of players and the, players themselves. So it's not all doom and gloom.

While I agree that we're not the best supported team in our division,we're not the worst either,Hungerford being a good case in point.

As Reading Rebel has said, until we have our own ground back in Slough,we really do not know what we can achieve,in the way of attendances.
