Please enlighten those of us who haven’t managed to get hold of a copy..... what are the club’s ambitions?

It say's that we have the right infrastructure to progress into a higher league and that we have the crowds, backing and a town that can support National League football.

Exactly as RR has said but just adding that Bakes also said ' We [with Unders] don't feel we need to make wholesale changes. We have a lot of players who are just coming into their prime,we haven't got many non league journeymen as such. I believe we have a squad in place who are capable of stepping up a level and competing with the bigger boys. With our 3g pitch there will always be comparisons with the likes of Sutton or Maidstone and we see that as a big compliment. They are naturally clubs that we look to aspire to.'

So no changes required to be a competitive side in the National South?

So no changes required to be a competitive side in the National South?

Funny you said that, as I was going to start a thread about team strengthening, then saw your post.

Unders said in one of the local newspapers, that they are going to add a few players to help strengthen areas they feel need it.

So reading what Bakes has said in the non league paper, and what Unders has said, I would think it would be 2 to 4 players max.

I can think of three off the top of my head that would likely be available and would enhance us.

One is a footballing centre half and can play a holding centre midfield role, one can play anywhere across the back line and is a powerhouse midfielder [ who has just been released from a Conference South club]  and one is fairly big, has a good turn of pace in the box/ok at heading, and can turn a player, centre forward.

Of those 3,  I would probably only go for two of them.

To go with two of them I would be on the look out for a young livewire utility squad player who we can develop, preferably left footed.

I don't get to see enough lower level games to know what's out there but there are always players worth a punt.

Personally I think we need to find out where we are at with our squad in Conference South terms, before we make too many changes. Better to strengthen through the playing season, rather than bring too many in pre season

That's why I would go with two experienced players and one novice. Enough to keep it fresh without disturbing our settled squad.

I think last season we signed five new players pre-season, and saw four changes/additions throughout the season.

With the form the squad were in over those last 18 matches, if we do have the ability to retain them all, I would be surprised if we have more than 3 or 4 new pre-season signings.

Thought that is what I said.

We don't know what is happening with Matt Day, as he was on loan till the end of the season and missed the play off final, or with Alan Inns, in terms of his injury.

Unders said a few changes. How many a few is by his reckoning, I don't know. It's more than a couple surely.

There's bound to be a couple of players leaving and I think we should look for another foward to replace Gavin James/ Brad Wadkins.

Perry Coles has proved himself since signing for us but I think we should have 4 decent strikers going into a higher division.

That's really the main thing we need to know Are we likely to retain all/most of last seasons squad?

It really depends on how happy they are at Slough, as a few of them will get better offers.

To me there are three or four that will struggle in the Conference South over a period of time but I don't believe there will be any rush to show players the door.

The season has only just ended, so I expect us fans will need to be patient on knowing what is and what isn't.

I see the EFL are having a meeting in June to vote on whether it should be mandatory on clubs having to produce programmes or not.

I know there would be a number of our Supporters who would be against this.

I always bought a programme but over the last two seasons I pick and choose.

Well done to Lewis Putnam on scoring 51 goals for Dorking Wanderers he also says and finishing the season winning the treble.

Tell us more the Dorking fan who comes on here.

It must be goals for the whole season? But even so very impressive and he’s certainly done well as when he left Slough I didn’t expect to see him at that level let alone scoring all those goals. He’ll surely be in demand this Summer and could even be playing in our league!
