Kingstonian are splashing the cash with the signing of strikers Louis Theophanous, who played for Billericay and Woking last season, and the goal hot shot from Staines FC and an ex Slough player, Elliott Buchanan.............

................and there was me thinking that we might have been in the running for him !

Apparently the K’s received a substantial 6 figure fee from AFC Wimbledon when they sold the ground to Chelsea. So it seems some of that money is being used with these 2 signings although is risky and surely that money is meant to go towards a new ground of their own?

'The goals he (Kingstonian manager) has set out is what I've been striving for in my career especially in the last few years and that's promotion'.

Apart from more money what have Kingstonian got to offer Buchanan that Staines or other clubs can't? Kingstonian don't even have their own ground.

It's all about the money which Buchanan has chased for most of his footballing career.

Let’s be realistic... it’s a (second) job to the players at this level, so naturally money will be one of the biggest motivators. Fans just can’t seem understand that the vast majority of players aren’t loyal because they’ll move on if a better opportunity arises just like anyone who works would no doubt do the same.

Don't feel too sad for Corinthian Casuals Walton's victory means they also are promoted!

Just been talking to one of Casuals Manangement staff.

Still has to be officially confirmed.

Staines Town have new owners with plans to be a football league team in 10 years....... what could possibly go wrong there!

I suggest 'breath-holding' might be a very bad idea.

In the programme on Monday there was some comments about the league and decisions from the Chairman of the Southern league who visited KL a few weeks back. He said most decisions would be sorted by 11th May but then you could have any/all of the appeals etc to the FA and league set ups.

Looking at the clubs in the Southern Prem had we stayed down, not so sure it would be weaker and would have been still very hard to get out of. Sure you wouldn’t expect the top 5 to accumulate the same points totals but with Weymouth still there plus teams like Staines who have just been taken over, plus Salisbury and certainly a couple of others who’d challenge, be interested to see how that league develops.

Also 12 points less to play for.

I see Staines’ new owners have announced a 10 year plan to get into the football league. I wonder if they have the finance to back that up or it’s a load of hot air, time will tell. They’ve never managed to attract the crowds required to push on even when they’ve been doing well. But as we know ourselves being surrounded by many other teams just doesn’t help, hopefully we can build on our wicked average gate of 666 and push that we’ll into the 700’s.
